Galway City Council Leads the Way: Energy Upgrades at Melody Court Community Centre

Project Overview?

Galway City Council selected Melody Court Community Centre for energy upgrades under the Community Energy Grant package. The goal was to improve thermal comfort for elderly residents while advancing the council’s 2030 decarbonisation targets. As a trusted advisor, Plan Energy conducted a detailed SI426 audit, which led to the successful application and awarding of the grant. The following measures are planned:?

• Pumped cavity insulation?
• Full LED lighting upgrade?
• Heating system upgrade?
• Installation of triple-glazed composite windows and doors?
• Increased attic insulation to meet current building regulations?

Impact?

Once completed, these improvements will significantly reduce outside air infiltration, ensuring a comfortable environment for residents during their leisure activities. The project highlights our technical expertise in supporting the council’s initiatives.?
