Gaining Through Elimination

Over the past few weeks, I have been on a pretty strict diet.
Very low fat, nothing fried, little meat, and a lot of vegetables.
This is a result of me needing to get my gall bladder removed which cannot happen until my cough, a lovely parting gift from COVID, goes away.
While I usually eat pretty healthy there are certain things that I have had to eliminate from my diet, that I miss. However, I have found that the elimination of these things has had a positive effect on my health.
A few nights ago I decided to cheat a little bit and for the rest of the night, I felt sluggish and just altogether blah.
It is amazing how sometimes the smallest things can have such a profound impact on us.
The same goes for the impact that eliminating certain things from our lives can have.
For years I held onto grudges, toxic relationships, the illusion of control, pride, and a host of other things.
As I worked, and still work, to let go eliminate certain things from my life, I find a significant increase in contentment, peace, and joy.
As I continue on my "new" diet, I continue to think about those things that I can eliminate from my life. Those things that only weigh me down and are an obstacle to living a wholehearted life.

What about you?
Are you holding onto things that you may need to eliminate?
Is it old emotional wounds, trauma, expectations, shame, or maybe something else?
As you head into the weekend, take an inventory of those things that may be holding you back and begin the process of elimination, it is the only path to full health and a vibrant life.
On the journey with you,
Carlos

2 年Great comparison between life and diet here Carlos Hidalgo. A struggle for most of us to eliminate petty thoughts and vices but it opens up space for positive thoughts, actions and habits to take hold.
