G2A.COM , a prominent digital game vendor, has recently expanded its product range by introducing a marketplace for nonfungible tokens (NFTs) specific to Web3 games. This addition aims to enhance the company's extensive array of gaming software with gaming NFTs.

A press release revealed that G2A's new initiative, launched on Nov. 15, focuses on promoting Web3 and NFT games selected by the G2A team. This platform will enable gamers to explore the realm of blockchain gaming and access NFTs from games in partnership with G2A.

In a recent statement, Bartosz Skwarczek , CEO of the G2A Capital Group, shared insights into the company's engagement with the blockchain gaming sector, tracing back to the early days of the NFT gaming project Cryptokitties. Contrary to some opinions that gamers are opposed to cryptocurrency, Skwarczek noted that many gamers are already interacting with this sector. He stated:

Following this observation, G2A has launched G2A Geekverse, an online hub for Web3 gaming enthusiasts. Skwarczek highlighted that this platform will provide users with information about top Web3 games and opportunities to buy and sell digital assets related to these games.

The interest in Web3 gaming among traditional gaming distributors has been increasing since 2023. For instance, in July, the Google Play Store began accepting NFT games under specific conditions, allowing games that incorporate NFT sales or rewards. However, the store has stated it will prohibit any form of gambling involving NFTs.

In addition to Google Play, Epic Games, a renowned game developer and publisher, has also shown a positive stance towards Web3 gaming. On June 22, the Epic Games Store added Gods Unchained, an NFT-based collectible trading card game, to its offerings. This game features gameplay similar to well-known titles like Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone. Moreover, Epic Games is set to list another blockchain game, Illuvium, on its marketplace on Nov. 28.
