A Meeting of Great Minds: Collective thought, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Last week 13th-18th July 2023 I had the honour of attending the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance summit in New Delhi as UK Sherpa.
It was wonderful seeing entrepreneurs from across the globe celebrate their differences and display such talent with such humility.
Seeing first hand the passion and intellectual thought of so many founders was incredible from over 30+ countries. There were many languages spoken from over 800 delegates but the common understanding was business and "how to move the dial" forward and grow.
The theme of the conference by our Indian hosts CII Young Indians was "hum" which means togetherness and unity which was encapsulating by an epic conference. The level of planning and detail was appreciated by all and it was an action packed week of business and culture intertwined. Thank-you Alex Gill , Vishal Agarwalla , Pallavi Gill , Rajesh Kumar Balasubramaniyam .
There were Five Tracks for the summit.
There were so many highlights.
Our UK G20 YEA President Tommie Edwards FRSA edwards shared a panel with HRH Fahad Bin Nasser Binabdulaziz Al Saud G20YEA President for Saudi Arabia to discuss Enterpreneurship in a global context. Specifically Challenges, Opportunities and Trends .
In addition there were also panel discussions on the Communique Process, Agritech and Diversity and Women in Entrepreneurship
There was also for the first startup duel where entrepreneurs battled to win a cash prize of $25,000. There were ministerial presentation and speeches from Smriti Irani , Piyush Goyal , Nitin Gadkari , Jyotiraditya M Scindia and many more.
Dr Dishan Kamdar gave an insightful presentation on how entrepreneurs should harness their negotiation skills by being prepared and setting strategic priorities
Varun Alagh , Ghazal Alagh also discussed how a successful business scaled up and grew and how they overcome many challenges in pursuit of profitability.
There was also some spiritual insights from Sadhguru who among many of his wise words said "the mind does not have capacity for unlimited data and as entrepreneurs we must filter, prioritise and balance the things we retain otherwise we can burnout."

My trip ended how it began meeting local people in India with so much humility kindness and big hearts. It began meeting rural farmers and textile makers at the BYST who transformed their lives and earned an income doing something they loved kindly co-ordinated by my Canadian friends Janis Nixon , Mégane Visette .
