My name is Melanie Rosales, a single mother of four and General Manager for G2 Secure Staff at Oklahoma City. Here’s my journey.?

In February of 2015 I responded to a G2 Secure Staff job fair advertisement for positions at the OKC airport. I was very hesitant to apply for a position in the aviation industry, despite my hesitation, I attended the job fair and was offered a position as a Passenger Service Agent.

I accepted the position and completed an extensive background check and began my training for the Passenger Service Agent position. Two weeks into my training the General Manager approached me and stated that they needed a strong lead and trainer to work in the Baggage Service Office. After careful thought, I accepted the position and began leadership training.?

Next, I was promoted to Manager of Services. This position oversees the entire operation and reports to the General Manager; I held it for more than 7 years.

My G2 journey continued when I decided that I wanted to expand my growth outside of OKC. I reached out to the DEI Council who helped me get nominated to the Leadership Bench. After fulfilling the training requirements for the Bench, I applied for an Account Manager position in Dallas and to my surprise I was offered this position. Shortly afterwards I had an unforeseen family emergency that required me to stay in Oklahoma City.

Six months later the General Manager position at OKC was posted. After receiving high marks for my leadership skills and hands on approach, I was promoted to the General Manager position for Oklahoma City.?

Some people may ask why I’ve stayed with G2 so long; with my experience, I could have taken a position with an airline or gone back to the medical field. My answer is simple.?

Throughout my time at G2 Secure Staff and it continues to this day, I have been treated like I am part of the team and that I am truly valued. There are some days that are challenging just like in any field, however, the difference I feel between G2, and other companies is the compassion that every team member shows to one another. No matter what city, what contract and what office you work in they all make you feel like family.?
