It has been an exciting week across the sports industry, with new commercial deals being struck as well as some exciting new events. The 2023 Ashes series ended a draw, England Netball team are through to the semi-final of the World Cup and the FIFA Women's World Cup is entering the business end of the tournament.

·???????Norwegian star Ada Hegerberg will represent Norway in the World Cup for the first time since 2015.
·???????Hegerberg staged a protest against unequal treatment of Norwegian players, sitting out the 2019 World Cup.
·???????She was triggered by a number of issues including unequal opportunities for girls and boys to play football, women and girls being forced to wait to use pitches, boots arriving for a tournament late and in the wrong sizes.
·???????The Women's World Cup has sold more than 1.6 million tickets this far.
·???????FIFA had been forecasting sales around 1.5 million as interest continued to grow.
·???????New Zealand has been able to draw strong crowds of 42,000 and 32,000, despite concerns over the lack of overall interest in attending matches in the country
·???????The Americans and Dutch drew 1-1 earlier this week on Fox in the most-watched group-stage game ever on English-language television with 6.429 million viewers.
·?????The decision was made during the ICC Annual Conference held in Durban, South Africa, marking a significant milestone in ICC's endeavour to achieve prize money parity by 2030.
·???????Teams will now receive equal prize money for finishing in similar positions at comparable events as well as the same amount for winning a match at those events.

·???????The Premier League team Manchester City F.C. has confirmed that the club’s planning application for the development of a best-in-class fan experience and year-round entertainment and leisure destination at their home ground.
·???????They further stated that approved proposals include several connected all-weather facilities, fully integrated into the stadium, centered on an expanded North Stand with one larger, single upper tier above the existing lower tier, increasing capacity to over 60,000.

·???????Spanish newspaper AS reported that the Spanish LaLiga club had informed some stakeholders, including representatives of supporters’ clubs, of an intention to hold a grand reopening event on December 23.
·???????Owing to the ongoing renovation work, the Bernabéu’s capacity was restricted to around 63,000 last season. Accordingly, stadium revenues in 2022-23 were 13% lower than in 2018-19.
·????????Following the revamp, the capacity will be back above 80,000.

·???????PMY Group, the venue, events and infrastructure technology solutions provider, will accelerate its international expansion plans after securing a significant investment from private equity firm Bluestone Equity Partners.
·???????The transaction is understood to be worth about US$30m (A$45m).
·???????Bluestone was launched in the first quarter of 2023 by Bobby Sharma, a former executive at the NBA basketball league and the IMG?agency.
·???????Sharma will join PMY’s board of directors and PMY will relocate its headquarters from Melbourne to the United States.

·???????Sorare has deals with Premier League, NBA, and MLB.
·???????Sorare’s game combines the mechanics of traditional fantasy sports with the collectability of trading cards.
·???????Users acquire, trade and assemble teams of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) representing real-life athletes, receiving points based on their real-world performance.
·???????The algorithm has been adjusted to handle gender ambiguous language.
·???????Google already has a women’s sport partnership with The Athletic.
·???????The additions form part of Google’s wider investment in gender equality in sports, a commitment that has since seen it expand coverage and visibility of women’s events and competitions on its various platforms

Nothing could separate the two sides in the final scoreline after England claimed a thrilling victory at the Kia Oval. Broad, in his final Test before retiring, took the last two wickets as England bowled out the tourists for 334 to win by 49 runs in front of a raucous crowd at The Oval. BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew on Test Match Special: "I really don't think Stuart Broad could have had a better script than this, it's a dream finish."
