Gloves Do NOTHING!

The only thing that makes sense about wearing Gloves, is that they protect your hands from chemicals, hot or cold water, cold air, or staining. None of these things are a greater risk because of COVID 19. Why are we seeing more Gloves than EVER before?
An inspector from our local Health Department told Architect Rob, "Gloves keep people from touching their face". I would really like to challenge her to tell me more about that. How do gloves prevent people from touching their face? Maybe they keep people from touching their face with the skin of their own fingers. But instead people touch their face with a glove. They touch thier face, they touch money & credit cards, they touch bags of take out food, they touch ALL of my groceries, they touch the groceries of the person in front of me and behind me, they touch the drive up window to open and close it, they touch the counter, they touch the food containers to pack them in the food bag. They wear gloves for hours, without changing them or washing them. I just can't figure out what they are thinking. Or maybe, more accurately, if they are thinking.
These gloves are disgustingly dirty!
Back in the beginning of all this, when restaurants were still open, I watched a guy wearing gloves clear dirty dishes from a table. Shortly thereafter, he returned to set the clean table, wearing the same damn gloves! He set a clean tablecloth, clean dishes, and clean glasses and utensils on the table (well they used to be clean before he handled them with the dirty gloves). And who knows if he touched his face or other things with those gloves.
I mean seriously... "Gloves" are the same as "Hands". Face Masks keep people from touching their face. Gloves keep people from touching their hands.
It's as SIMPLE as that.
It's true that your hands can become dry and cracked from too much hand washing - so put on gloves to protect your hands. But then you have to clean the gloves as though they were your hands, to prevent the spread of germs, or you have achieved NOTHING!
Maybe we need to start calling people and organizations out on this too!
