Fyre Festival II. Can't Fix Stupid.
Billy McFarland announces that Fyre Festival 2 tickets could cost up to $7,999 - despite no information about the event being made public.

Fyre Festival II. Can't Fix Stupid.

This is quite possibly #entrepreneurship at its worst.

When I first saw this ludicrous news start to pop up on my thread I thought to myself ok this is 100% fake news but in doing a bit of reading on this beautiful rainy Sunday morning it would seem that Billy McFarland, the infamous organizer behind the disastrous 2017 Fyre Festival, is indeed attempting to stage a sequel event called Fyre Festival II.

You don't believe either... check it out yourself and you be the judge...

I guess your really can't fix stupid

Despite the lack of crucial details like a confirmed date, location, or musical lineup, McFarland claims that the first batch of 100 presale tickets, priced at $499 each, has already sold out.

Fyre Festival II Plans

McFarland announced that Fyre Festival II is targeted for the end of 2024 in the Caribbean, though the exact location remains unspecified. The festival's website states that ticket holders will receive VIP access to FYRE events, experiences, and community. However, the lack of concrete information has raised skepticism among many.

Ticket Sales and Pricing

The initial 100 tickets were priced at $499, with subsequent tiers planned as follows:

  • Next 400 tickets: $799
  • Following 100 tickets: $1,199
  • Next 50 tickets: $1,799
  • Final "pre-sale last chance" tickets: $7,999

Despite the high prices and lack of details, some people have reportedly purchased tickets. Victoria Medvedenko, a 20-year-old nursing student, told The Washington Post that she bought two tickets for herself and her boyfriend at $549.89 each.

Skepticism and Concerns

Given McFarland's history of fraud related to the original Fyre Festival, many are understandably skeptical about this new venture. McFarland served less than four years of a six-year prison sentence for defrauding investors of $26 million in the 2017 Fyre Festival and over $100,000 in a fraudulent ticket-selling scheme.Critics and former business partners have expressed doubts about McFarland's claims. Andy King, an event planner who worked on the original Fyre Festival, told the Wall Street Journal, "I'm not sure I can believe anything that he says at this point".

McFarland's Perspective

McFarland acknowledges the skepticism but insists that Fyre Festival II's success is crucial for mending his reputation and maintaining his current lifestyle, which includes income from paid appearances and speeches. He claims that all revenue from ticket sales is being held in escrow and that a production company has purchased a 51% stake in the festival's parent company to oversee finances and operations. While McFarland's ambitious plans for Fyre Festival II have generated buzz, the lack of concrete details and his controversial history have left many questioning the viability and legitimacy of this proposed sequel event.
