Back in the day, I'd practically twist myself into a pretzel trying to check every angle - and throw in a prayer for good measure - before changing lanes.

?Now I can't even remember the last time I had to sheepishly throw up that apologetic "ooops, my bad!" wave after almost sideswiping someone.
