It continues to be a busy time for FWB Park Brown at home and abroad and we are pleased to have advised on the following appointments…


Will Whitehorn has been appointed Chair of one of Scotland’s most successful public companies, Craneware plc, which develops financial and enterprise software solutions for the US healthcare sector. Previously Corporate Affairs Director to Sir Richard Branson and CEO of Virgin Galactic, he is also Chair of SEC and Deputy Chair of Stagecoach plc.



Weir Group PLC has appointed Alouis Ngoshi as Group Treasurer. He joins from Cummins inc. where he was was Regional Treasury Director.  Carla Roberts has also joined as Finance Director, Projects following a successful career with Rotork plc and Sulzer.



Scottish Leather Group, the UK’s largest manufacturer of leather products, has appointed Graeme Russell as Head of Marketing. He joins from Bentley where he was Head of Brand Communications and was previously a Brand Ambassador with The Macallan in New York.



Global and PE-backed testing business Element Materials Technology has appointed James Geekie as Group Insurance Director. He joins from major insurer Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers.



The Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) is a key partnership between business, government, police, fire service and academics to tackle cyber-crime. Jude McCory, a Director of The Data Lab, has been appointed as its new Chief Executive.



Jennifer Riddell-Dillet has joined BoxShop, Scotland’s largest independent box manufacturer as Managing Director. She joins from Novgraf where she was Managing Director.



Tecniplast UK, which designs, manufactures and distributes equipment for vivaria in the lab animal industry has appointed Andy Humes as Managing Director, based in Kettering.



In an internal appointment following a European search, Mark Bustard has been appointed as CEO of IBioIC (Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre)set up to stimulate growth in this sector in Scotland. He joined as Commercial Director in September 2019 from National Biologics Manufacturing Centre where he was Business Development Director.



Roslin Technologies the agriculture biotechnology company that was launched to facilitate the commercialisation of research from The Roslin Institute and Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh has appointed Professor Andy Porter as Chair. Andy is Professor of Medical Biotechnology and Director Scottish Biologics Facility at The University of Aberdeen. He is also Director and CTO of Elasmogen, Novabiotics and Langstane Liquor.



Nucleus Financial Group plcthe award winning adviser-built wrap platform, has appointed Carol Young and Carole Judd into two non-executive roles as Members of the Investment Committee for Nucleus IMX. Carol Young is Director of Reward and Employment at RBS and Carole Judd, previously a Senior Director with Willis Towers Watson, holds a number of non-executive positions.



Niall Phillips joins leading out-of-hours Pet Emergency Care business Vets Now as Head of Technology, having previously been Head of Service Management at Standard Life Assurance.



Leading UK housebuilder CALA has appointed Matt Cavanagh as Group IT Director. He was previously IT Director of Dobbies Garden Centres.



Craig Boath has joined Infracapital-backed multi-utility connections company Energetics as MD Scotland, having previously been MD of Turner Property Services.



Nick Clinton has joined leading Elgin-based bulk fuel supplier Gleaner as Finance Director. He joins from Moray College where he was also FD.



Leading property investment and management company Grant Property has appointed Katerina Brown as Finance Director. She was previously CFO of the global energy business Ventient.



Mowi, formerly known as Marine Harvest, the global fish farming business, has appointed Clint Parsons from Liberty British Aluminium as Head of Procurement, based in Fort William.



Emtelle Group, the industry leader in plastic tubing for telecoms and water piping has recruited Hassam Hernandez to lead its Operations in Hawick. He joins from Leviton.



Quoted housebuilder Springfield Properties plc has appointed Iain Logan as Group Financial Controller. He joins from Omega Diagnostics plc.



John Webster has joined leading provider of waste recycling systems Blue Group as UK Operations Manager for its Murray Plant Division. He was previously Operations Director at Applus+ in Liverpool.



Andrew Maitland joins St Leonards School in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer. He relocates back home to St Andrews following several years spent working in the Middle East – most recently as Country Financial Controller for Advanced Energy Systems in Kuwait.



Scott Lindsay has joined The Law Society of Scotland as Executive Director, Finance & Operations. He is formerly of the Scottish Football Association and Hibernian FC, where he was CEO.



Fast growing fashion brand 11 Degrees has appointed Jacob Booty as Head of Ecommerce, having previously been Trading Manager at Gymshark. He also relocates from Birmingham to Manchester for the role.



Bicester-based Bigblu Broadband plc is the world’s largest multi-territory alternative broadband service provider. Dominic Beever, formerly of Talk Talk Telecom Group plc, joins as Group Finance Director.



Allan Gowans has joined Walker Precision Engineering, the BGF backed advanced high-precision manufacturing business, as Group Director of Operations. He joins following a successful career with Rolls Royce in Inchinnan, latterly as Head of Operations.



Ross Blackadder, formerly of David Lloyd Clubs, joins Transition Extreme as Chief Executive Officer. This is a leading Aberdeen-based youth charity and social enterprise, providing a wide range of innovative sports, creative arts, diversionary, employability, educational and enterprise activities.



Ross McLellan has joined Duncan & Todd, Scotland’s leading optical and hearing care providers, as Finance Director. They secured significant investment from LDC in 2018 and Ross will support the business through the next stage of its ambitious growth strategy.



Major development and construction group Cruden has appointed Martin Cooper as Finance Director of Hart Builders. He was formerly Finance Director within Galliford Try plc and of Miller Construction.



Lindsay Carruthers has joined Menzies Aviation plc as Head of Communications. She was formerly with Crieff Hydro Hotel and Resort.



We were also pleased to advise on a pre deal management due diligence project for Souter Investments’ successful acquisition of the leading ICT services provider Stone Group.

In the Highlands, luxury cashmere and woollens producer Johnstons of Elgin has appointed Julia McGlashan, formerly VP HR of Hoover Ferguson, as People Director; and at the world’s leading malt whisky specialist Gordon & MacPhailBecky Pearce is now Head of HR and joins from Harman International where she was HR Director.  Jade Crotty also joins G&M as Head of Compliance and Infrastructure from Stork in Aberdeen.



Weir Group PLC has appointed Lindsay Barrie, formerly of AG Barr, as Learning and Development Business Partner.



Nicky Jeynes, formerly Senior Talent & OD Consultant at Phoenix Group plc, has joined Tesco Bank as Head of Talent and Leadership and Jo Grant also joins from Edrington as Talent Acquisition Manager.



Leading UK Mutual Life and Investments business, Scottish Friendly, has appointed Pamela Simmons, formerly of Scottish Ballet, as its new Head of HR; and major UK based Fund Manager Artemis has appointed Liz Cole, formerly of Martin Currie, as HR Manager, on a contract.



Lothian Pension Fund, which administers the Local Government Pension Scheme in Edinburgh and the Lothians, has appointed Helen Honeyman as Head of People and Communications. She joins from RBS.

Joining Nabors Industries as Senior Vice President, Eastern Hemisphere Operations is Travis Purvis. Nabors is an international drilling contractor with the largest land drilling fleet in the world. Prior to joining, he served on the executive team of OILSERV and held a number of engineering and management positions at Schlumberger and Shell. Also joining is Miguel Sanchez as Vice President Operations, Latin America. Previously he was Vice President, Rigs and Business Development at Weatherford.



Jim Klingele has joined the Houston-based Society of Petroleum Engineers as the Director of Sales for North America. SPE is a global not-for-profit professional association and is a key resource for technical knowledge providing publications, events, training courses and online resources.



Surface to Seabed Systems company Seanamic has appointed Gordon Kerr as Financial Director. He is formerly of Mono Consultants and MB Aerospace.



Pipeline Technique, a world leading provider of solutions to the oil and gas industry, has appointed Kevin McLardy, formerly of ACE Winches, as Chief Financial Officer.



Mark Collier has joined Callon Petroleum in Houston as Director of Land Administration, having previously held the position of Land Manager at Hess Corporation where he led the land systems, integration and technology initiatives within the group.



Josina Robson joins Ashtead Technology as Financial Controller from her role of Group Finance Manager at Cortez Subsea. Ashtead is a global leader in the provision of technically advanced subsea solutions, tools and systems.



Red Wing Europe, part of the Minnesota based Red Wing organisation, is an established provider of PPE to a global community of customers across the oil & gas sector, as well as other industries. Stuart Harrington, formerly of MacPhie of Glenbervie, joins as Operations Manager.



Joining Houston-based Akselos as Sales Engineer is Weiming Lan. Akselos uses RB-FEA technology and hybrid advanced physics to conduct structural asset life extension. Prior to joining, Weiming was an FEA subject matter expert at Schlumberger.



Chrysti Ziegler joins Venezuelan-owned major refiner and transporter CITGO Petroleum Corporation as General Auditor. She spent many years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as Internal Audit Manager before serving as Chief Internal Auditor for Genesis Energy.



Patrick Gonzales joins expandable steel packing specialist MorphPackers as US Technical Sales having built his experience in sales and account management experience with a focus in lower completions.
