Futurist: is that a laser pointer i see before me?

Over the years, I have shared "net new" or not as-of-yet products. Things that would make my life easier. They are not products today, but they could be tomorrow. Today, I want to share another idea I have for a great product. The first is an integrated meeting laser pointer. I've done presentations for 10,000 people and 500 people in many other audience sizes in person. The laser pointer was an effective tool to point out a specific region or section of the slide. Why is the laser pointer important? Will if you put words on the screen talking to read the words. Effectively, you lose their attention. The laser pointer allows you to focus their attention on a specific concept that you're trying to convey.

As we consider the concept of a meeting, the lack of a laser pointer or the capacity to deliver a laser pointer in a Live Meeting can be difficult. I can quickly jump on my vibe board and use it as a live whiteboard and meeting. The cool thing about Five is that it has all the clients to the major web meeting systems built into the structure of what the vibe can deliver—an interactive whiteboard. When using the vibe board, I can use the concept of the pen for several items on the screen. Yet, the whole thing about an interactive whiteboard is that I can use an application to capture the whiteboard and Sheriff Meeting repeat. You can also share your vibe board and let many people interact with it simultaneously. But not all meetings are conducive quite well. Based on that, I think of future products for Live Meeting system units ration of a laser pointer that the presenters who highlight specific areas quickly using the same technology and concept are always important. Beyond the integrated Live Meeting laser pointer to capture people's attention, another functionality beyond notetaking in Live Meeting would be interesting. Today, most live meeting systems allow you to record the meeting and create a transcript to share afterward. There is a value in doing bad that is incredibly useful. Several products are either available today or will be available, allowing you to convert those transcripts into other languages and provide a nuanced view of the emotional content people were using when speaking. Today, they are great because if you use them, you'll find very quickly that debates need to provide a better, nuanced view of the speaking. But they allow you to integrate and follow up meetings more effectively.

The next evolution, a concept I want to share continuing on my simple meetings kick, is that of the personal assistant. A personal assistant attends a meeting in your stead, and if something requires you to engage in a particular meeting, a personal assistant can notify you and give you the context of the question asked. This feature is designed to alleviate the stress of being double or triple-booked for meetings. Imagine a personal assistant that could attend to all your meetings, allowing you to focus on the most important ones. Another interesting component of that personal assistant is that people can ping your assistant or every personal assistant of everybody on a call and find beneficial times. A scheduling assistant has a plan allowing everyone to present their available times with their assistant to review. Knowing there is a time before and after every meeting when you need a few minutes to water a new cup of coffee or use the facilities.

Either one of these solutions is easy. I don't think that as many people consider them critical as I understand. I'm trying to make my online meeting experience better. It does make your experience better than you can reject these ideas and move. The intent, of course, is to improve my Live Meeting experience. I will leave an open-ended question: is my ending today? What would improve your web meeting experience? Specifically, things that don't exist today now have fewer or more in-person meetings. In-person meetings also have their quirks; frankly, it is hard to create follow-up notes from an in-person meeting as doing anything else. Do it in the in-person meeting at the laser pointer, but you still have to transcribe the notes!
