The future's so bright I need my sun shades!

In Kuala Lumpur today, July 2, the rest of the cabinet were sworn in by the King. We have the oldest Head of Govt (in the world) Tun Dr Mahathir at 92. Malaysia has our very first woman Deputy Prime Minister. Serving alongside Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah, are 8 other women (ministers and deputy ministers). So altogether there are 9 women in a cabinet of 50. Not quite the 30% quota target, but not bad.

Lim Guan Eng is Malaysian Chinese and he is our Finance Minister. Gobind Singh Deo is a full minister. He is also Malaysia's first Sikh minister. Through them both, the sacrifices of their fathers Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh, are appeased.

Syed Saddiq, 26, is Minister of Youth & Sport and Malaysia's youngest minister. He and Yeo Bee Yin (Energy, Science & Technology) are Ministers under the age of 40. Hannah Yeoh, Sim Chee Keong, and Teo Nie Ching, are deputy ministers also under 40.

The story is good so far, isn't it? Good racial mix, multi-party representation, and an all-inclusive age combination. This 5-party coalition Alliance of Hope ~ PPBM / PKR / Amanah / Warisan / DAP) toppled Barisan National, the coalition in power for 61 years and since Independence. I'd say this story has the makings of an epic saga, wouldn't you? It is made up of almost superhuman feats -- waves of gratitude, forgiveness, reservoirs of trust and confidence. It's a story about putting country above self. About sacrifice and paying-it-forward for our children and their children. Amazing. Amazing grace.

That's not all! In any saga of epic proportions, there's our hero... and there are the villains. The hero overcomes seemingly insurmountable obstacles and in the end, saves the day. In our story, the villains must be caught and that's where we wait (with bated breath). The hit list reads like the world's who's who. Saudi kings. Bollywood bigwigs. Hollywood is not to be outdone - Leo DiCaprio, Robert de Niro, Miranda Kerr. The biggest hedge funds, investment banks like JP Morgan & UBS, Interpol are involved. Movie stars. Luxury cruise ships. Helicopters, submarines... fast cars, fast women, fast cash. Not forgetting the bling bling, the Birkin, and Bijan. Blockbuster or what?
