FutureOn Newsletter
Hello and welcome to FutureOn ’s first LinkedIn newsletter, where we will provide you with timely company updates and strategic industry insights. You will also get to know the talented team behind FutureOn’s FieldTwin platform (who walked the equivalent of Mount Everest last year, but more on that later).
We enter 2025 following a busy and transformative 2024 – we opened a new office in Aberdeen, grew our team and footprint across the world, enjoyed impactful industry partnerships and launched powerful software updates to our FieldTwin platform.
Optimizing our software has never been as important. Digital transformation and adoption continue to be a learning curve which we are proud to support our customers with. Trusted platforms like FieldTwin are intrinsic to making sure energy majors, operators and EPCs can unlock efficient and creative solutions for subsea operations, across oil and gas and renewable projects.
This activity and development are all set against the wider macro environment of a fast-evolving energy industry, which has faced many geopolitical and security of supply challenges, as well as opportunities to embrace and balance investment in the energy transition and hydrocarbon industries. We believe to achieve a sustainable global energy sector, companies across the supply chain need to work together.
To continue to hear from me and the team regarding what we believe is shaping the future of the global energy sector and its supply chain, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter to receive it directly into your LinkedIn notifications and email inbox.

P.S. If you would like to hear more on my thoughts for how FutureOn will be powering project performance in 2025 and beyond, you can read more in my blog here.
FieldTwin 8.1, our latest software update, is packed with powerful new features that will transform how you manage and design complex projects.
Designed to increase flexibility, streamline workflows and simplify and improve team collaboration, you can find out more in our video below.
FieldTwin Vision
We have completed the development of our new FieldTwin Vision module, which provides access to historical ROV routing and videos based on geolocation in FieldTwin.
This allows our users to see where ROV survey videos are available in their field layouts, in both 2D and 3D view, and simply click on them to view the associated video streams in FieldTwin. All while our ROV asset follows the survey path in synchronisation with the video and the geo position.
You can learn more about FieldTwin Vision here.
FieldTwin Intelligence
Currently in development and set to launch this year, FieldTwin Intelligence will provide an integrated AI chat bot within the platform, allowing users to have ‘conversations’ with all their FieldTwin data - from uploaded documents, to metadata, to costing – with data control and processing being private and secure.
You can learn more about what’s news in FieldTwin by reading our recent R&D newsletter here.
Introducing our Brazilian Portuguese e-Learning capability
We are proud to offer our FieldTwin Pro Fundamentals (Módulo Princípios básicos do FieldTwin Pro) and FieldTwin Pro Design Fundamentals (Módulo Princípios básicos do FieldTwin Pro Design) learning resources in Brazilian Portuguese on our eLearning portal for our Latin America and South America customers.

At FutureOn , we work closely with innovative partners around the world to enhance and simplify critical stages of energy projects, across the asset lifecycle, for major energy companies.
Our latest collaboration has seen us partner with Neodrill AS , specialists in well foundations technology, to integrate its suite of proprietary CAN technologies to our FieldTwin platform.
This enables our customers to build and refine field concepts with Neodrill’s equipment, such as the CAN-ductor, CAN-Integrator and Dual CAN-Integrator, within FieldTwin - bringing asset models and associated technical datasets together.
This collaboration allows FieldTwin users to select CAN technologies directly from the FieldTwin Asset Library, to then visualise and assess the impact of CAN technologies on field developments.
By using FieldTwin to screen different field concepts based on metrics such as cost, schedule and materials, our users can quickly view and compare the impact of using Neodrill’s CAN technologies against other more traditional approaches.

Scaling up and breaking down silos: Meet Renner Vaughn, Chief Commercial Officer at FutureOn
“Ultimately, we believe FieldTwin can be the industry standard, AI field development tool for the energy sector.”
From the telecoms industry to the energy sector, our newly appointed CCO, Renner Vaughn , has developed a unique and varied skillset which has prepared him well for his role at FutureOn.
Read on to discover his motivations, priorities and passions…
What was it about FutureOn that attracted you to work for the company?
When I first saw FieldTwin, I was really impressed that a platform could combine advanced geospatial technology, 3D design and collaborative decision making. A super powerful, intuitive tool that reduces project risk and is already in use by major operators. Tell me more!
Coming from a digital and data background, I knew that the surrounding and supporting technology required to empower the world’s largest energy companies to innovate and operate projects sustainably was complex. I also know that new tech can be time consuming and costly, derailing many digital transformation efforts. This is where I saw the potential for FutureOn and the FieldTwin platform to become an industry standard for combatting these challenges and enabling geospatial data to work smarter.
You were recently appointed as Chief Commercial Officer at FutureOn - what are your main priorities in this new role and what do you hope to achieve??
Primarily, to scale up our business. We are always looking to improve our understanding of how our customers create sustained value by leveraging FieldTwin within various workflows. By asking better questions, listening more closely to our users, and drawing some conclusions from their activity, we continually learn, enhance and collaborate on what FieldTwin can do to benefit energy projects.
Internally, my main focus is bringing our newly formed commercial team together. I am proud to lead the commercial functions of our business and encourage open channels of communication and collaboration between ourselves and our customers. Our customer success team is critical to our understanding of our customers’ day to day experiences and relationship with FieldTwin, and it is energizing to hear from our network of users so we can continually refine user experience.
