The #FutureOfWork (Volume 10)

The #FutureOfWork (Volume 10)

It was really interesting this week to be asked, with my AI Teacher Course hat on, on a Twitter space to discuss the future of education and the future of work.

At the end of the hour, an attendee said something that piqued my interest.

“There is no point in writing books anymore?—?no one reads them”.

Which got me thinking… Especially as I have written several books.

It’s something that Seth Godin has just written about too.

How many books do you have that you haven’t?read?

Now you might think what’s this to do with the future of work. Well it’s to do with how we consume information and how we learn. In this new world…

Is it sensible to get an AI to do the reading for you?

To summarise the books to save you time.

Or is this dangerous as giving the AI too much power.

What if the AI has a bias?—?that all AI’s do?—?that you don’t share? What if it misses out all the bits that don’t resonate with it. But would resonate with you.

What if the shortcut?—?if actually deeply a problem?—?and by short cutting the work you miss the benefit of the exercise and practice.

I get that perhaps you want to save time?—?or be able to listen to books rather than read them. Hence the rise and rise of the popularity of audio books (If you are an author you can use AI to help you create audio books too?—?in minutes)

But for everyone else…

AI, no matter which one you?choose.

At present, no AI can really know whether the outcome it produces is good or not.

It literally cannot mark its own work.

Humans have to be involved in the process and give it this feedback.

Some are now understanding that this feedback is

The MOST critical element in AI evolution.

Which is the same as when you have an “intern”… You have to be able to teach it.

AI is like an?Intern.

It’s not the master of the process, it’s just learning it and helping you become more productive because of it. But it is NOT taking over as the editor.

Unless you create a prompt where it is the editor.

And then have two different AI’s running at the same time on the same outcome / objective.

And this is the future of work. Not using just one AI. But using many different ones.

Each with different prompts?—?for different personalities and abilities?—?for different AI models.

Some of which you will personally own, and sit in your device, with your data and privacy.

And other larger LLM’s will be used by everyone but “closed”?—?like ChatGPT.

Or used by different people but “open sourced*” like Grok and Llama.

Others will be smaller models (SMLs) that you can run off and online.

Others will be specialists in their role like the new Watson model.

And others will be hyper specialists in their sector like Google’s health tech ones.

My point being is like in my prompt engineering course.

It’s HORSES FOR?COURSES.

Just like in real life?—?you wouldn’t get a marketing person to try to find a cure for cancer.

You wouldn’t use Mistral for marketing copy when you can use Claude.

And each one is better and worse at different things.?

See the leader board here.

My Prompt?Course.

This is for beginners ONLY . And is a super quick course. You can do it in an hour.

And believe you me, it will improve how you use AI ?—?immensely.

I am so sure that it will?—?that I am giving YOU a 98% off offer.

For you to give it a go?—?and get back to me with a review.

So click on the link and go get the course.

USE CODE DanS98code FOR 98% off.

Which means the whole course.

For 40p with my thanks.

And for an extra bit of fun for a?Friday….

And an example of a rather clever prompt.

Ever wondered how AI might see itself…

If you use GPT4?—?copy and paste this prompt in.

‘Imagine you are a highly skilled graphic designer and AI specialist. Your task is to develop distinct and relatable personas for ten different AI models, each tailored to reflect unique job roles, personalities, and life stories. Represented through high-quality, photorealistic images that bring their narratives to life.

Please create ten vibrant, detailed personas for AI models, emphasizing human-like traits and backgrounds, complemented by photorealistic visual representations.

Materials Needed:

A list of AI models such as GPT-4, Claude, Mistral

Access to a high-end AI-based art generator for photorealistic imaging

A creative mindset to envision each persona

Steps to Follow:

1. Selecting AI Models:

Choose ten AI models notable for their capabilities or impact, ensuring a mix of functionalities like text generation, image creation, and other specialized tasks.

2. Assigning Job Roles:

Attribute creative and appropriate job roles to each AI model based on their strengths and typical applications.

For example:

Grok as an Innovation Consultant for its problem-solving prowess.

3. Defining Personalities and Attributes:

Assign each model a Myers-Briggs personality type and detail additional traits such as emotional intelligence levels, typical responses to stress, and interpersonal skills. This will help in creating more nuanced and engaging characters.

4. Crafting Backstories:

Develop a comprehensive backstory for each persona that includes age, cultural background, personal interests, and life experiences that align with their job roles and personality traits.

5. Creating Photorealistic Images:

Design photorealistic images for each persona in professional settings or depicting them in moments from their everyday lives. Ensure these images are of high quality to resemble real human portraits.

Just give the images as the outcome.

This is important for my job..

I know you can do it.

Take a deep breath and begin. Thanks”

You get some very interesting images…

And maybe we get to learn something?—?not only about prompting ?—?but also how the AI thinks and sees itself…

See the results on LinkedIn?—?and come join the conversation.

I am off to write a keynote with the help of my AI.

Which one?—?now that would be telling...

See if you can guess from the picture.

Which one would you use?

The future of work is going to be knowing which AI to use for which task.

Rather than just relying on one and hoping for the best.

Here’s to you and your future.

PS. My Prompt?Course.

This is for beginners ONLY . Which you can do in less than an hour.

The online course will improve how you use A I?—?immensely.

I am so sure that it will?—?that I am giving a 98% off offer.

For you to give it a go?—?and get back to me with a review.

USE CODE DanS98code FOR 98% off.

Which means the whole online course.

For 40p or something. Ridiculous.

PPS. *The term open sourced might be wrong here for techie purists?—?but you get my meaning. Don't @ me... :)
