Future You - Episode 11: Don't pour excess water down the drain.

This week’s advice is rather fun to think about because I hadn’t thought about reusing water after boiling pasta or Ramen noodles. I also pour water down the drain when I rinse out my coffee mugs, and this has me rethinking my wasteful water ways.?

To help you ‘Don’t pour excess water down the drain,’ here’s a simple 2-step process:

  1. Set aside a bowl or bucket to capture erstwhile ‘down the drain’ water.?
  2. After it cools, feed this water to your pasta-loving plants (especially if you're growing tomatoes or oregano).

Your Future You will be able to see the savings on your water bill AND capture increased air quality (and potentially increased food) from the recycled water feeding them nutrient-rich noodle-infused (or even mildly caffeinated) water.??

P.S. - It’s also been reported that Corporate Housing helps people ‘don’t pour excess water down the drain’ because our units have kitchens with large counter space and are furnished with extra bowls (and sometimes buckets) to capture this water to be recycled. I would be curious to hear what other ‘excess water’ you can consider reusing for plants or other purposes around your home (or corporate apartment)...
