Humanity in the 21st Century is at a critical inflexion point.
The future has never been more in the hands of us, the masses, than it is now.
We get to choose whether we will rehumanise or continue to dehumanise.
We get to choose whether we will work together or against each other.
We get to choose whether to collaborate or to compete.
In one scenario we head down a utopian path; in the other, we head down a dystopian path.
We get to choose. And the choice is obvious.
Most of us would prefer the utopian path. But to take this path takes conscious choice. It takes intention. It takes an abundance mindset. It takes a certain degree of optimism.
Unfortunately, this is the opposite of what modern society has programmed into us. We have been programmed into believing we are in competition with our neighbours. We have been programmed with a scarcity mindset, to look out for ourselves rather than each other.
So if we do nothing, the dystopian path is the path we will take.
Which is why we must make a conscious choice if we are to create the future we want to see, the future we want to be a part of. The future we'd like our kids to live in.

Let's look at the Future of Work and Generative AI. There are utopian and dystopian paths we can take.
On the dystopian path, we could imagine:
However, on the utopian path, we could imagine:
And the key here is a choice. It's a choice to work together.
If we work together, we can leverage Generative AI to create a better Future of Work and Future of Living for all of us. A better future for people. A better future for society. A better future for humanity.
The Future of Work is all about increasing productivity and happiness through increasing flexibility and making modern work a more human experience. Generative AI - if we use it correctly - can accelerate this transformation, help it reach more people, and have a positive impact on more lives.
And no, of course it won't be a utopia ... but the more we choose the brighter path the brighter the future will be.

1 年I think we are actually headed for a little bit of both. It's just a matter of how much of each. I think we need to take a deep dive to see specifics. That way we can make informed decisions to steer things in the right direction. The World Economic Forum's recent Future of Jobs report gives a pretty good look at what areas are likely to be affected and how. https://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_Future_of_Jobs_2023.pdf
