Dear friends,
W.I.N. What is Important Now, problem solving 5.0
Problem solving all day, every day?
There are challenges in life, sometimes we get overwhelmed by these challenges, sometimes we leave a challenge a challenge.
There are people who love to solve challenges, the risk is that they love it so much that almost everything becomes a challenge.
It takes Hygiene for you soul to survive the jungle of work
When work becomes your life, it is time to make some arrangements.
There are situations that we are confronted with, and of which we think we have to solve them. This can be true in a work situation- a task.
When this task is so unfamiliar, that we do not see any entry point or way to answer it in a reasonable amount of time, we challenge ourselves for let's say 30 minutes.
We should stop. Take a break, take a walk, do something different at least leave the room. Get your body moving. These senses and movement, a change of scenery, letting go of the "task" helps you to get a fresh perspective.
Why, after a rough night; troubles on your mind, a short rest, you have the brightest ideas under the shower?
See, it is said that Steve Jobs had a 10 minute routine, that after 10 minutes dealing with a problem, he took a walk. Sometimes alone sometimes with somebody. The walk could expand to a longer time, but it brought new perspectives.
I had the advantage to walk down to the warehouse and observe the operations, the movements, the flow of materials and engage with who ever I met.
Snapping out of a vicious circle can be a good thing if you are aware what is going on. Do not start snacking, eating and so on, that is not a 'cut' of your stagnating mind.
Lok at today's image, seems so helpless and small, the hero confronted with a giant. Is it pure imagination?
Wish you a perfect Monday, have fun, good learnings,
Abraham
