THE FUTURE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT!

Today, exactly twelve months ago, I walked into the doors of Honeywell for the first time. I decided to join the company after some interviews and insightful conversations that let me see from passionate recruiters, colleagues and leaders that Honeywell really designs the future.

Of course, I was scared, yes! But the certainty of taking a step forward to expand my knowledge in a new industry and the clarity of what the leadership team was looking for, gave me the confidence I needed to take this step forward. It was also important for me to know what the expectations of the leaders regarding my role were and how I could contribute to the development of Talent in Latin America. Each interview gave me one reason more to take the bet.

That is how I found an amazing team of Future Shapers who through a relentless focus on innovation have been transforming the way the world works in every industry sector for more than hundred years. Driven by a foundation in sustainability, digitalization and autonomous operations, technologies transform industries to make the world we live in smarter, safer and more sustainable and connected.

I clearly remember my first day in the Bogotá office, in the middle of the pandemic, full of curiosity to meet my new team, the facilities, the business units (I'm still trying to learn many of the acronyms) and countless leaders and collaborators who made me feel welcomed from the very first moment.

Day one was full of emotions: many names to learn, many faces to recognize behind the masks and many ties to create in a world totally unknown to me. But what I was able to recognize in the first contact was that set of values?that make us a unique company, focused on people, with exceptional talent and leaders and employees interested in building a better future, and ultimately a better world.

It took me little time to understand that I was joining a company with a very clear “DNA”: a high-tech company with three foundational pillars:

Autonomous operations: designing and delivering processes, industrial controls and sensors, along with industry-first technologies focused on autonomous and remotely operated solutions powered by the latest innovations.

Digitalization: delivering industrial solutions for digital transformation, helping companies to connect assets, people, and processes for intelligent operations.

Sustainability: serving nearly all vertical industries, offering solutions that help the world lower its carbon footprint and achieve other sustainability goals.

After one year, I can proudly say that working at Honeywell has been a life-changing experience. Through this company I have been able to:

I value the path that brought me here along with my previous work experiences in companies that I love like Unilever and Bayer, but I can say with certainty that working to create the future motivates and encourages me.
