Flying taxis date back to 1919 and have always been known as private air charter. The first VTOL airtaxi, the Bell Flight 47 was type certified in 1946, but the main Urban Air Mobility usecase is airport airshuttles, like BLADE in New York. Passenger eVTOLs, which include eHelicopters will compete with and replace light helicopters in current airshuttle and airtaxis service in much the same way eBuses are replacing diesel buses and EVs are replacing ICEVs as Ubers and Taxis. They are just greener and quieter but offer the same service at a similar cost per seat mile.
