At Xebia, we believe that you can continuously deliver high quality software. An essential part in doing so is that you automate your tests. This has a huge impact on the role of the tester and the skills he needs.
A lot of test automation tools were discussed and presented at www.testworksconf.com. Today, we have an in-depth discussion with Alan Richardson and the Xebia team about the future of testing and automation. Topics on our agenda:
- What is the role of the tester in 2020?
- What are the biggest problems in test automation?
- What is cutting edge in test automation?
We are still discussing these topics but some things I can already share. We do believe that the role of the tester will still be there in 2020. However, the tester must obtain the required technical skills and testing needs to become a joint effort of the team. The unique selling point of the tester is his mindset and his drive for quality.
