Looking Forward to RecFest 2019

Richard Bradley talks all things RecFest and #WhatsNext for talent.

RecFest 2019 is just around the corner and it’s set to be another fantastic
festival. I love that RecFest is an informal setting where people can get
together and talk about the issues impacting our industry in an open and
diverse environment. I’ve watched the event grow over the last couple of years
and it’s become a good temperature gauge for the UK talent industry as a whole.
Bringing together people who are new to the sector with those who are a bit
longer in the tooth (like me!) It’s a great opportunity to discuss not only
what’s happening in the talent industry today, but what we can all do to shape
the future of work for the better.

#WhatsNext: The future of talent is potential

I am thrilled to be chairing a panel on the Kelly-sponsored Unplugged stage
this year. Together with some very talented panellists, I will be discussing
#WhatsNext for talent. I am a strong believer that we are not lacking in talent but in vision.
By embracing innovation and reforming traditional (and frankly outdated)
practices, we can help to connect people and organisations in more meaningful
ways. The competency-based interview is just one of the relics that we are
holding on to simply because it has become part of the furniture. Instead,
I believe we need to look at key skills and how they can be applied to future
challenges. Joining me will be some of the smartest and most innovative talent professionals I know: Jack Parsons, CEO, Big Youth Group; Nicola Brentnall, CEO, The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust; Dan Richards Head of Resourcing UK&I, EY; and Johnny Campbell, CEO and Founder, Social Talent. We hit the stage at 10:30 – don’t miss it!

Exploring RecFest 2019

There are some exciting and influential speakers on the agenda at RecFest 2019
and I’m hoping to see at least a few of the people who are really driving
innovation in talent. For me, this #DitchtheScript thinking is at the heart of RecFest
 – it’s about people coming together to share ideas and collective creativity.
It’s about being prepared to not only be brave, but to be brazen in the push for
change. I am fascinated by the big questions we are tackling right now and the
diversity of viewpoints and responses to the challenges we face together.
I am hoping to spend time connecting with people who are genuinely excited
about the innovation we have ahead of us and who have big ideas about how we
can create a successful talent future.

Have a great RecFest 2019 and I hope to see you there! Come over to the
Unplugged stage to say hello, meet the team, and hear from some of the
inspirational speakers who will be taking the stage.
