The future of service hiring
We’ve all felt the frustration of trying to hire a reliable service professional. It used to be simpler, but these days, it seems nearly impossible. Not only has demand skyrocketed, but the supply of skilled tradespeople has dwindled. Young people are finding it harder to enter the trades, facing countless obstacles. Middlemen have swooped in, snagging job leads and selling them back to the very professionals who need them, creating a maze of channels and excessive competition. This competition doesn’t come from fellow service providers but from marketers as well.
Even if these hurdles weren’t there, many blue-collar workers still struggle to market their services effectively. There’s always something intangible about services. Professionals can’t always guarantee results or predict unforeseen issues before starting a job. The industry is now structured around upselling, and prices are becoming increasingly detached from actual value. I mean, $600 just to replace a kitchen faucet? Outrageous.
Amidst this turmoil, we set out on a mission to find a solution. There had to be a better way to connect customers with service professionals—a way that didn’t involve endless middlemen, inflated prices, or confusion. We imagined a world where hiring a service professional could be as simple as picking a product off a store shelf.
And thus, Boots and Ladders was born.

Our journey began with a small but determined team. We started by researching the pain points of both customers and service professionals. The more we dug, the clearer it became: the industry was crying out for change. We realized that with the right blend of data and AI, we could create a platform offering fixed-rate services. Early-stage service workers would be guided on how to present their services clearly and confidently.
We designed over 400 fixed-rate service offers, providing a clear, transparent framework for professionals. The results were phenomenal. Service providers, regardless of their experience level, could now showcase their offerings with top-notch clarity in under four minutes. No more endless calls, no more quotes, no more paperwork. Just pure, direct selling to the end customer. And best of all, they got to keep all their hard-earned money, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—delivering outstanding job results.
The road wasn’t always smooth. We faced skepticism and technical challenges. There were days when it seemed like the odds were stacked against us. But every time we saw a service professional thriving thanks to our platform, we knew we were on the right track.
Today, I’m thrilled to invite you to join us at bootsandladders.com. We’re still in the early stages, but what we’ve achieved so far offers a tantalizing glimpse of the future of service hiring. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. Together, we’re not just changing the game—we’re creating a whole new one.
