Future Proofing SEO against AI – Headshots for the Holidays - Giving Tuesday: Cause Marketing & Venture Philanthropy
SEO and AI
When you think about AI and SEO you probably think about the flood of AI-Generated content spamming the web and the Google index, potentially jeopardizing your rankings.
While that’s an issue the implications of LLM AI on the future of search engine marketing is far more complex. There are copyright issues, and issues surrounding some queries being answered by LLMs with no SERP (search engine results page). With no SERP, the idea of ranking morphs into either being “the answer” provided to searcher by the AI or not. That feels very binary.
An increasing percentage of consumers and businesspeople will skip the search engine results page and ask ChatGPT, Bard, Jasper and others for the best or a list of the best in nearly every category.
Will you be recommended by the AI?
There are also second order effects based on content pollution.
If that doesn’t scare you as a marketer who wants to be found when searchers look to solve problems you can solve for them… It should! Most brands and businesses are not ready to take advantage of the LLM (ChatGPT, Bard, Jasper and Grok)
If you are in NYC on Giving Tuesday, Mike Grehan and I have both been thought leaders in SEO since 1995 (and earlier). Yes, before Google!? Feel free to stop by this free Manhattan event where we discuss how: “AI will change SEO, PR & Marketing Forever!”
Speaking of Giving Tuesday and the upcoming Holidays, have you considered turning your Holiday Party into a year-long morale multiplier AND a marketing engine at the same time?
Holiday Headshots?
Yep, your holiday party can be a marketing tool by adding Charity Headshots delivered by GoodPics (part of the nonprofit I founded, Giving Forward).
Here’s how it can work:
a)?????? Pick a nonprofit cause your employees will love (or select up to 4 and they choose)
b)????? GoodPics will source a professional photographer, then we set up Charity Headshots at your offices day of the Holiday Party. Internal folks donate to get their headshots via out platform. You set the minimum donation. Then in the late afternoon, before the party you invite in prospects and customers to get headshots too. Make it more philanthropic when you match their optional donations and everyone is happy getting professional headshots. After the headshots the photographer can extend their engagement to cover your party for a bit more cost.
c)?????? We deliver the headshots via our platform.
GoodPics takes care of the logistics and charges a small platform fee and small percentage of donations. As a 501c3 the donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
GoodPics has also deployed at trade shows, conferences and events and delighted attendees who get a super-valuable giveaway.
Email [email protected] to brainstorm on how to use GoodPics to build internal morale, generate marketing impact and social impact all at the same time.
Giving Tuesday. Think like a Venture Capitalist non just a Philanthropist
When you’re choosing a donation strategy for charities that are doing good in the world…
Would you rather make a donation that’s a drop in the bucket…
… or one that can create a constant stream of donations?
The nonprofit 501c3, I founded, Giving Forward, creates cause-marketing platforms that help continually generate revenue for other nonprofits.?
The idea is Venture Philanthropy. If you make a donation to my Giving Forward 501c3, you’ll help enable constant streams of donations to other nonprofits.
So your one donation can keep making a difference over time.
And if you donate to Giving Forward, we can even target your investment at specific social causes.

WILL GIVING FORWARD REALLY WORK?
Here’s why you can trust that Giving Forward can do what I say it does. Before I started Giving Forward, I started We-Care. That for-profit company generated $8.3 million for nonprofits through cause-marketing powered shopping and became the inspiration for Amazon Smile, generating an additional $450 million in nonprofit donations before Amazon shut it down in 2023.
CHARITY MALL
We’ve already rebuilt a platform to replace Amazon Smile, the Giving Forward Charity Mall. This lets anybody who uses it to shop at hundreds of merchants supports a selected nonprofit. We’ve already got retailers like Walmart, Shop Disney, Staples, and Priceline on board with a few hundred merchants live and more getting ready to launch soon.
And we’re working on doing it bigger and better than Amazon Smile did before.
SPONSOR CO-REGISTRATION
Here’s the first innovation going beyond SMILE: Co-Registration.
If I register here using single sign with Google or by adding my email address manually, I can check off co-registration options to share my email address with any sponsors I choose — and just for doing that, they’ll give money to Giving Forward which will then be distributed to other non profits.
CHARITY COUPONS
But wait!! There’s more! Our next innovation: Charity Coupons.
Imagine consumers getting coupons that are better than they can find in Honey or any of the other coupon apps.
Giving Forward will source those from the retailers and will fulfill those to the shopper — but ONLY if a donation is made to one of the curated nonprofits the retailer chose as the beneficiary. Once again 70% of the money goes to the nonprofit, and 30% goes to Giving Forward to keep the flywheel running.
Giving Forward Charity Coupons will even work for FBA merchants and Amazon Smile, or retailers working with Shopify, Magneto or any major shopping platform. Eventually we plan to power offline shopping as well.
What else is Giving Forward doing?? CHARITY HEAD SHOTS
We’re doing Charity Head Shots (mentioned above). We created GoodPics.org as an easy platform to enable even more giving, primarily within a business context.
Here’s how it works. The sponsor pays for the photographer, and then charitable giving to nonprofits can happen in a number of ways.
As the sponsor, you might decide to provide the head shots for free and ask recipients to donate anything they like to charities as a thank you.
Or, you can choose a mandatory minimum – say, $40 or even a hundred dollars.
It’s completely turnkey for events, galas, trade shows, job fairs and even Holiday parties.
CONSIDER GIVING TO GIVING FORWARD
There’s a lot more I can tell you about what we’re doing, but the common thread that ties it all together is that my 501c3, Giving Forward, is creating cause-marketing platforms that help to continually generate revenue for other nonprofits, like magic.?
So…
Would you rather make a donation that’s a drop in the bucket…
… or one that can create a constant stream of donations through innovation and leverage?
Either way, you get your tax deduction because we are a 501c3 (to the fullest extent of the law).
