Helping organisations to achieve measurable improvement for their marketing and recruitment
The recruitment landscape is evolving rapidly, driven by relentless advancements in technology, shifting candidate expectations, and the ever-changing UK economy. I like change, but this is the first time the rate of change feels unstructured and rushed.
The pace of these recruitment changes is fundamentally reshaping how education organisations and schools are approach talent acquisition. In some cases, we are seeing this reshaping over the course of just three months.
This article aims to use the experience we have at Bright to provide actionable strategies for recruiters and HR professionals to navigate the recruitment challenges of 2024 effectively. Our focus is on equipping you with the knowledge and tools to stay ahead in a competitive and dynamic hiring environment, even when it is hard to predict how it may look!
The Recruitment Landscape in 2024
Trends and Predictions
In 2024, recruitment is expected to lean heavily on technological advancements. AI and machine learning are not just buzzwords but integral elements in streamlining recruitment processes for many non-education sector recruiters. We expect this will creep into the way the education sector recruits before the year is out.
Employer branding has already become more critical than ever, as candidates look beyond job descriptions to the ethos and culture of potential employers. We expect this trend to continue with a rising tempo.
Challenges
However, these advancements bring their own set of challenges. Adapting to new technologies while maintaining a human touch, engaging with a diverse talent pool, and ensuring a positive candidate experience in an increasingly digital-first world are some of the key challenges recruiters will face.
Out of all of these, it is the maintenance of a human touch that worries me most for 2024. This is already a difficult element for the education sector to maintain (and other sectors too) but the pace of technological advances could increase the rate of erosion.
