Your Expert Skills are those connected to your profession and life experiences. These are unique to you and the foundation of your value online.

You might be a butcher, baker, candlestick maker, a gardener, a cook, a carer, a parent, an accountant, any type of health worker, an engineer, a sports person, teacher, an architect a lawyer…the sky really is the limit.

You have gained your Expert skills from a course, a hobby or life experience.

These are the skills to create the information, messages, products, and services of your online business.

Your second group of skills, I call your Transferable Skills

These are the skills shared by all of us to some extent.

In broad categories they are writing, speaking, entertaining, researching, administration, and office tasks, educating, mentoring, IT, speaking, designing and creating.

I have identified over 200 transferable skills you can transition online across 70 different types of professions.

You’ll be good at some but not all.

These are just a few of the transferable skills you can work with to create streams of online income.

In my experience, there are eight online strategies best suited to people with Expert skills.

You can create an online business with only your Transferable skills regardless of your Expert skills.

You can also combine your Expert skills and your Transferable skills with one or more online strategies to create new income streams and/or to build a global online presence.

You can also create online streams of income using just your Transferable skills.

I have replaced my corporate salary working 25 hours a week as a freelance technical writer.

I don’t use any of my skills from my qualifications as a dietitian, agricultural scientist, health planner, and medical researcher, I could but I don’t need to.

My business is thriving and I don't have enough hours in the day and I love what I do with great clients.

The online strategy I use for fast cash flow is freelancing. I needed the fast when I couldn’t get a job after returning to work when the children were older. I was also older and experienced age discrimination. I applied for 25 jobs, gained 19 interviews, and received only one offer for one day a week and a 90-minute one-way commute. I took this job and gradually turned this into an online freelancing role and I still work with them today.

No way was I going to settle for a life that was less than my expectations for me and my family. I needed to create my own path.
