The Future is Now: Stop Waiting and Start Living It
One of the beliefs that guides me, one I repeat often, is this: we could be living in the future right now if only we embraced the technology that already exists.?
This isn’t just an idealistic vision or some far-fetched dream, it’s a reality. Look around, travel, or even just go online. You’ll see how cities in places like China, Australia, and Europe are tackling the same issues we face, whether it's how they produce energy, manage pollution, or handle healthcare challenges. These are problems every nation grapples with, from the most advanced economies to the most remote tribes in the Amazon. And every nation tackles them differently. Some have embraced technologies that have solved issues we’re still struggling with, technologies that have been available for decades.
So, why do we continue to suffer through problems that already have solutions?
Let’s be clear: we’re not talking about futuristic fantasies here. We don’t need to talk about space exploration or teleportation. The solutions we need to live a healthier, more efficient life already exist. And yet, in many parts of the world, including our own, we still cling to outdated systems and technologies. Imagine living in a city where you pay less for electricity, where the air is cleaner, and where healthcare isn’t a gamble. These places exist, so why not here?
One of the reasons we fail to adopt these solutions comes down to mindset, what I call a "technology adoption barrier." Change is scary. You’ve all heard the phrase, “It’s always been done this way,” and you probably laugh at it now, it’s practically a meme at this point. But that kind of thinking is a powerful force holding us back. It’s not enough to make sarcastic jokes about our problems; we need to actively solve them.
The other barriers? Sometimes it’s political interests, sometimes economic, or legislative. But ask yourself: is this what governance is for? Is this what we should accept as citizens? If we continue to live in cities full of smog, paying sky-high electricity bills, watching our loved ones suffer from preventable diseases or accidents, nothing will change. We are part of the problem, yes, but more importantly, we are part of the solution.?
We have to start asking why more often. Why can’t we adopt better solutions? Why are we still stuck with the same old problems? And if there’s a better way, how can we implement it, even in small ways? We don’t need to revolutionize the whole system overnight. Start small, look around your home, your workplace, your community. How can you make things better?

Today, we have access to all the knowledge we could ever need. You don’t need to go to the right college or pay for an expensive course to learn anymore. Here’s a little secret, actually, it’s a big one: the internet is the most powerful educational tool we’ve ever had, and it’s free. Right now, you can find information on any topic, whether it’s business, fitness, or health, and that knowledge is often better than what’s offered in traditional educational settings.
And that’s the key. The future isn’t just about technology, it’s about knowledge. We’re not talking about some distant utopia; we’re talking about right now. You can tap into this future simply by learning, by embracing what’s out there, and by using it to improve your life and the lives of those around you.
I still hear people say, “I can’t change my situation because I don’t have the right connections, the right education, the right resources.” But the truth is, we are living in an age where information, "transformational" information, is at your fingertips. We could be living in a world where everyone has the freedom to pursue their passions and contribute to society without being trapped in survival mode.
The knowledge and technology we need to create this world already exist. What are we waiting for?
As I always say, "We could be living in the future today." Let's stop waiting for someone else to change the world for us and start living in it, using the resources and tools we already have at our disposal. Because we deserve nothing less than an idyllic life in this world, one where our passions drive our contributions and our problems have long been solved. Let's make that future our present.
