The Future of Mass Timber: A Conversation We Need to Have
Dear Forest Business Network Newsletter Reader:
As we count down to January 20, 2025 to the launch of a new U.S. administration, Noel Johnson — our friend and mass timber colleague — recently wrote an excellent op-ed on LinkedIn discussing Trump 2.0, mass timber, and capital markets.?
As a fluent mass timber real estate developer and adjunct professor in behavioral finance, Noel certainly has the intellectual heft to discuss these issues. And while I won't spoil Noel's article, his summation at the end reflects similar conversations we've had as we build out the agenda for the 2025 International Mass Timber Conference: our supply chain lacks depth in a key component that can help rocket our industry to greater heights.?
As usual, we'll do our best to address as many major supply chain issues as possible at the conference. But educational sessions are one side to advancing knowledge, while conversations are yet another. A new administration is reliably good fodder for discussion in any industry and we suspect that Noel's points, and topics similar, will be top-of-mind as you connect with other mass timber professionals this March 25–27, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.?
Best,
Craig Rawlings?- President & CEO, Forest Business Network LLC
