Future Mantra for sustainable IT Industry

During pandemic lockdown Many small town talent moves back to Tier-2-3 cities. I think the first time the industry witnessed a widespread remote work model which in turn proved a big success for the whole IT industry. Nowadays we can witness significant growth in terms of infrastructure in Tier-2-3 cities. It could be a much better transport connectivity or high speed internet access or electricity supply. It affects the whole ecosystem of the IT industry in many positive ways. It's time when the IT industry can follow the "hub and spoke model" for their establishments. It will be a win-win situation for everyone. Each stakeholder have its own takeaway from this move:

Employee: Employees get a better quality of life. No pollution. No huge traffic. More productivity. Kids are getting a chance to live with family. Low cost of living. Comparatively better and low cost schooling and many more.

Employer: This reduced cost model of living of employee benefit could be translated to the organization cash book.

  1. It will help employers to significantly reduce total cost to retain an employee.
  2. It will help employers to significantly reduce attrition rate, improve employee satisfaction.
  3. Much lower real estate prices will help employers to significantly reduce their establishment setup cost and can also benefit from many government initiatives to promote industry in such cities.
  4. All it will help employers to make good profit even in tight international business conditions and significantly improve their sustainability in tough market competition.

Economy: Economic model of India will drastically improve by this move. When cash starts flowing through the Tier-2-3 local ecosystem it will help other local populations to significantly improve their quality of life. It will be a real contribution in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
