The Future of Learning?!
So, what is the Future of Learning? Very briefly: Individual and Lifelong!
There's not one future. For many it is difficult to understand because the current education system (based on industrialisation) is facing the greatest upheaval of all time. And it's time. In my lectures I often mention the exponential curve, which makes it wonderfully clear where we stand technologically and what happens from now on at ever shorter intervals. This has nothing to do with the fact that everything is getting faster and faster and we have to adapt to the new way of learning and working!
We must now make the transition from Linear Thinkers to Exponential Thinkers!
Knowledge is always available in small units in various formats, which we can share, edit and discuss with others online or offline. Appropriate software collects data when, where, how, what, with whom we learn in order to make individual suggestions for optimization in the long term. The premises where we come together to study and work offer a mix of large and small meeting rooms, retreats, easy-to-use technology, lounges and sports facilities.
Thanks to community apps, we can find and learn from each other online or on site with appropriate experts according to our own interests.
As Jack Ma (Founder Alibaba) recently aptly said: "Man cannot compete with machines. Artificial intelligence will be a completely unimaginable driver of the future. That is why we must now launch new concepts that drive forward future-oriented capabilities.
I personally am not only happy to write or present about this change, but also to have implemented and continue to implement corresponding concepts both online and offline!
The Future is now!
Best Regards
Daniel

4 年Yes, learning is a lifetime thing. The advent of the era of artificial intelligence does not mean the end of learning. Instead, artificial intelligence can help people get rid of a lot of memories. Towards a broader knowledge and creative world

6 年Daniel Jung i agree with you and the colleague Michael Streit. But I think we have also to CHANGE the way of learning, willing to learn our whole lives. The struggle of many students are overcomplicated scripts nobody understands or the overload of information and details which leads to: loosing motivation, fail in exams due to concentrating on less important facts. These learning strategies are just so traditional. The future of learning should be more online: via videos, vodcasts or 1:x conferences; more audible, via podcasts. Or scripts which are on point, easier language for anyone specifically in complex topics. The key ambition is here: MAKING EXPLANATIONS SHORT, coming to fast conclusions and convey topics easily. Because we always forget: there are different types of people: the ones who learn better with visual content, others with audibles or written text.

6 年I think one needs to clarify what is meant by learning. It is one thing to know information about something or how to organize that information but another thing to master the subject. So many test show that digitalized learning is not doing as well in helping us learn in the more traditional form of mastering the topic. Tests also show we think we learn better using digital tools but in fact don't do better but worse than if we used traditional analog versions to learn with. Latest example is this test which points to paper books not digital books actually work better https://theconversation.com/the-enduring-power-of-print-for-learning-in-a-digital-world-84352. If you are saying we need to change our idea of what to learn rather than how we learn then digital might have the edge.

6 年Hey Daniel Jung, totally agree. But to me there would be even more priority on lifelong learning. In general usage of data will be crucial to perfectly identify individual needs while simultaneously monitoring digital/technology trends to adapt and constantly update content. With regards to Jack Ma. I guess the combination of #AI and personal learning will result in Augmented Intelligence like #IBM would frame it. Maybe enhancing cognitive capabilities by artificial systems. (human + artificial = augmented) Maybe next time you could share your thoughts on how to imaging lifelong learning (frequency, width, depth of content?). :) adding Michael Larche Randy N?ster Klaus KallenKlaus KallenKlaus Kallenbrunnen Cheers, Michael
