A new way to control dreams

Prophetic AI has developed Morpheus-1, a groundbreaking AI model aimed at inducing and stabilizing lucid dreams.

This model, described as the world's first multi-modal generative ultrasonic transformer, is trained on various brain states to provide a personalized dream experience.

It's designed to work with the Halo, a non-invasive wearable device priced at around $2,000, set for a beta release in Spring 2024.

The Halo detects desired brain states and uses ultrasonic signals for neurostimulation to achieve these states, enhancing the dream experience.

Morpheus-1 utilizes transcranial-focused ultrasound (tFUS) technology to create ultrasound holograms based on user's brain states, offering a novel and possibly safer method for lucid dream induction and stabilization.

While the concept is innovative, the effectiveness of Morpheus-1 and the Halo in actual dream control is debated among experts. This technology's impact on dream exploration and consciousness expansion remains to be seen as it approaches its beta release in 2024.

ChatGPT's new tagging feature

ChatGPT's new tagging feature lets you easily incorporate multiple GPT models into your prompts, enriching conversations with diverse expertise.

Simply type @ and select the GPT.

Mentions, a seemingly small update, is actually quite powerful. It transforms chats by enabling the use of multiple GPTs, effectively creating a team of AI experts.

Elon Musk's Neuralink implants brain chip in first human

Neuralink, led by Elon Musk, has successfully implanted its N1 brain chip in a human, a significant breakthrough in brain-computer interfaces (BCI).

The N1 Implant, designed to record and wirelessly transmit brain signals, aims to help people with paralysis control devices like a computer cursor.

The patient is recovering well, and early results are promising. This development, part of Neuralink's broader vision to enhance human-brain-device connectivity, has sparked both excitement and scrutiny in the field.

The implantation, conducted under FDA oversight, could greatly benefit individuals with neurological conditions.

Robot trained to read braille at twice the speed of humans

A new robotic sensor, equipped with artificial intelligence, has been developed to read braille significantly faster than human readers.

The robot achieves reading speeds of 315 words per minute with an 87% accuracy rate, roughly double the speed of a typical human braille reader.

The technology uses machine learning algorithms to clarify or "deblur" braille characters, enabling rapid text interpretation.

Beyond braille reading, this innovation has broader applications, such as in detecting surface textures or identifying slippage in robotic handling.

This advancement in AI and robotics could lead to new tools for assisting visually impaired individuals and enhancing robotic capabilities in various fields.

Vision Pro is Apple's first major push into AI

Apple has launched its first augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headset, the Apple Vision Pro.

Announced on June 5, 2023, and released on February 2, 2024, in the U.S., this spatial computer marks Apple's major entry into the AR and VR market.

The headset boasts advanced features including two micro-OLED displays with over 4K resolution per eye, precision hand tracking enabled by eight cameras, and two additional cameras for video transmission. Controlled by voice or gesture, it runs on Vision OS, tailored for spatial applications and compatible with Unity and ARKit.

Priced at $3,499, the Vision Pro is now available for purchase.

This product represents a significant shift for Apple, being its first significant venture into artificial intelligence since the introduction of AirPods in 2016.

Analysts predict strong sales, expecting over 600,000 units to be sold in 2024, with numbers likely to exceed a million by 2025.

How about simple? Visual storytelling. Using your finger and/or stylus on mobile. Anyone can tell a story. Our brain's cortex processes visual imagery 60X more than text. Storytelling is personal, emotional, and impactful. It has no cultural barriers. It's been around for tens of thousands of years. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication". da Vinci. The art of storytelling. Simplified.
