THE LINE (as it’s called), is 105 miles long, 500m tall, 200m wide, and housed within a glass mirror facade. Energy and water supplies are 100% renewable, the city has a year round micro climate and natural ventilation, and the concept of removing roads has taken the idea of a traditional city and consolidated its footprint, as well as its carbon footprint.

The minds behind THE LINE have quoted, “Humanity has existed with dysfunctional and polluted cities that ignore nature for far too long. Now, a revolution is taking place. THE LINE will provide a healthier and more sustainable quality of life.”

THE LINE will be home to 9 million residents, with access to all of their daily needs within 5-minute walks. Despite the 105 mile length, THE LINE’S infrastructure makes it possible to travel end to end in 20 minutes, with no need for cars, resulting in zero carbon emissions.

All amenities will be available, AI technology will automate many services, and THE LINE will be accessible to 40% of the world within 6 hours, at the heart of the globe’s key trade routes. There’s never been anything like it.

Whilst Dubai has over 25% of the worlds construction cranes, and places such as NEOM in other parts of Saudi Arabia have incredible projects such as THE LINE, the renewable revolution is closer to home than you might think.

For example, from 2025, there will be no more gas boilers fitted in new-build properties, with air source heat pumps taking over. From 2035, the plan is to have no more gas boilers at all. Electric cars are on the rise, and hydrogen an ever increasing hot topic.

ECO4 focuses on helping people with low energy performance ratings, and in particular those who are either vulnerable, have poor health, have a low income, or receive some form of means-tested income support.
