The Future of Global Capability Centers: Talent, Transformation and Value

In 2020, when the world faced pandemic lockdowns, businesses everywhere entered a race against time to digitize. Work went virtual, and companies struggled to set up systems to streamline processes and workflow. Global Capability Centers (GCCs) continued to add value at each stage of this process. Being at the forefront of driving transformation, GCCs can teach every part of the parent organisation regardless of business units or geographic presence.

Talent is a pivotal element for GCCs; and attracting, developing and retaining talent is at the heart of their transformation journey. “If you go back 10 years, it was a different need where cost arbitrage was one of the key criteria for setting up GCCs, but now it has become a core part of the complex transformation of the organization,” said Accenture’s Rajesh Ojha while speaking at a panel discussion on The Future of Global Capability Centres. Ojha also threw light on the importance of centralizing knowledge-based processes, particularly in the context of supply-chain. When it comes to architecting a future-ready supply-chain, he said the key lies in “how technology is enabling easy access of relevant data to all the key stakeholders as and when required.”?

Through Accenture, GCCs have access to the best of learnings from clients in India and across the globe; the combination of Accenture’s broad and deep experience and the GCCs’ existing talent base can create end-to-end use cases that can be delivered to the parent company. GCCs need to nurture talent with the right blend of industry-specific and technical knowledge in order to drive complete transformation within the enterprise…Watch session recording
