This is a question that’s emerged as a top priority during my conversations with Vice Presidents of Advancement Services. What my team and I have observed is that today’s top VPs of Advancement Services have evolved from exceptional tacticians to multidimensional leaders who have to embody the donor experience, fundraising strategy, and the process that allows organizations to manage and grow giving.
As the role continues to evolve, all members of the Advancement Services team are asked to drive efficient and consistent gift processes. Along the way, not only do they have to manage the risks and nuances that come with emerging giving methods –?they also have to look for levers that free up resources to focus on driving sustainable giving growth.
The takeaway is that Advancement Service professionals have adopted perhaps the most proactive role in employing new technology and solutions that create digital transformations which lead to systematically growing revenue in sustainable ways.

Most DAF Donors Favor General-Operating Support and Other Surprising Data From a New Report (Chronicle)
A new report from the National Philanthropic Trust finds that when it comes to DAF giving, unrestricted grants are more numerous but account for far fewer dollars. Overall, 59 percent of the grants from DAFs in the study were unrestricted, but they tended to be smaller. Only 29 percent of grant dollars were general operating support, while 71 percent were earmarked for specific purposes. Read the full analysis in the Chronicle of Philanthropy. (KEEP READING)
Digital Gift Agreements & Multi-Year Giving for Giving Days
Over the past decade, Giving Days have become a standard practice for many nonprofit organizations because they typically produce year-over-year growth. However, with donors becoming so used to the annual Giving Day appeal, in addition to Giving Tuesday, and other "single-day" solicitations, many fundraising leaders have begun to question to effectiveness and efficiency of Giving Days.
One of the most impactful ways to overcome donor fatigue for Giving Days is to use a multi-year giving approach and Digital Gift Agreements that benefit donors and increase efficiency for advancement operations. (KEEP READING)
