The Future of Fundraising - 7/23/23

I spent this past week on the road. First was an amazing trip to New York for the CASE Summit for Leaders in Advancement. Then, it was onto Chicago for the Midwest Meeting of the Minds conference.

Retention is clearly on the minds of every leader who I spoke to. Givzey’s amazing customers and partners have proven the first step to solving retention is to introduce multi-year commitments to all levels of giving.

What Will Giving Look Like This Year?

If you’re worried about the latest trends in giving, you’re not alone. The Fundraising Effectiveness Project and the Giving USA results for 2022 are troubling, to say the least.

Now is the time to ask point blank how your organization’s own giving is changing. Now’s the time to make sure you have 100% board giving, even if that means asking board members for recurring gifts. (NonProfitPRO)

Partner Spotlight: Penry Advisors

Jason Penry, PhD is a longtime friend and partner of the Givzey team. Penry Advisors provides fundraising counsel and training specifically for college athletics.

Jason and his team understand fundraising in college athletics, particularly how it differs from academic fundraising. Their focus is to optimize the fundraising partnership between advancement and athletics to create an open-ended revenue stream.

Results include three successful billion-dollar capital campaigns and record-breaking growth in alumni giving, annual fund, and planned giving, in addition to securing the largest gifts ever received.
