Future Foundation: the pathway out of poverty is education.
The pathway out of poverty is education. It is a path that must be filled with supportive adults that help youth connect with their own resilience. It must provide access to resources and information - or as Future Foundation calls it, "real talk" - and a sense of community. Safe afterschool places to study and play. Career exposure, college tours, financial literacy tools, access to scholarships. Hope. Trust. Dreams. Empowerment.
Founded in 2001, Future Foundation provides holistic support to 1,500 youth in East Point, College Park and the surrounding area just south of Atlanta. We seek to improve the life chances of youth through a five point wrap-around strategy which incorporates relationship skill development, academic enrichment, family supports, life skills building, and health education. Our students receive support in their everyday environments – during school, after school, and in the home. As a result, 100% of Future Foundation teens graduate high school and matriculate to college - since 2007.
