The Future of Festivals -Wellnergy
Hey all,
In true British fashion, I am going to start with the weather. I hope you are enjoying the first embers of summer.
The last newsletter showcased Turn Up founded by the incredible Karl Considine
Since then Karl & I have put plans together to host an event together which details you can find here:
This is to celebrate the launch of my book - apologizes for the shameless plug. The book "I'm Never Drinking Again" will be released on the 23rd May (next thursday)
In the spirit of events this weeks Showcase is redefining festivals.
Wellnergy
Founders: Nick Steiert
?
Location: Manchester, currently working in Huckletree
?
Mission: To redefine the meaning of wellness.?
?
Story: Wellnergy is my second time founders journey (my first time journey began with a company called Invasion in July 2008 and lasted until March 2023, which involved scaling a bedroom events start up and growing the team to 45 people, buying an office and expanding into the travel market and sending students all around the world).
?
Wellnergy was then created in January 2020 (so 2 months before Covid) for a number of reasons:

1) to redefine the meaning of wellness, as wellness back then seemed to be connected to either being a vegan, being sober or doing yoga; which I felt was misrepresented and why I created the 5 pillars of Wellnergy: 1) mindfulness, 2) fitness, 3) food, 4) music and 5) laughter.?
?
2) taking on the issue of mental health, by empowering people to gain strength from being vulnerable and changing the conversation to be focused around mental fitness.?

Forecast: Wellnergy has grown from operating out of a hotel lobby 6 months ago, to being in an office with 5 full time and 5 temporary staff members. We have expanded from 1 festival location in London, to adding Manchester to the mix; as well as community events and we have even more exciting things planned in the future. We have also signed some very exciting sponsors, with several more exciting ones in the pipeline.?

Ask: As an early stage festival, we are relying on word of mouth support (alongside our other marketing activities) to help grow, so please take a look and follow our insta page if this sparks your interest. We want people to leave Wellnergy feeling motivated, empowered and ultimately excited for tomorrow, having gained new insights and feeling part of a community ...so if this sounds up your street, then hope to see you there :D? ?

Most challenging and most rewarding parts of growing your business so far? The most rewarding item is seeing the brand grow and come to life and meeting some really cool people along the way; the most challenging part has been going from running a team of 45 to having to start again from scratch.

I have known Nick was a while and I will be looking forward to attend one of the festival this year.
