The Future of Energy: Who's Responsible?
Houston Marine & Energy Insurance Conference
The Premier Marine and Energy Insurance Conference in the World
The future of the energy market in America has never been more dynamic and the challenges remain immense. So who’s going to make all this happen? We are of course! Again, this isn’t the first time innovation has pushed the limits in the US energy sector, but it may be the most significant changes we’ve faced.??
No matter where you sit in the sector, you will be affected. Energy underwriters will be taking crash courses in hydrogen, if they haven’t already, to support widening their energy portfolios. Ship owners will need to construct Jones Act-compliant vessels while committing to a net-zero future. Hull and cargo underwriters will need to rate the risks of insuring the first decarbonized hydrogen fleet. Classification societies will need to develop the rules for classing these vessels, and most have already started. The recently retracting oil and gas industry may be moving toward rapid expansion and the securing of necessary talent as they work to become true energy companies. And for the first time, wind policies will be written for offshore wind farms where claims will actually relate to the policy name-sake rather than the wave-dominated claims these policies always paid when platforms get hit by Gulf of Mexico hurricanes.?
Join us in October at the Houston Marine and Energy Insurance Conference where we will have a series of world-class presenters speaking on these and other important subjects impacting our sector.?
