We are delighted to share with you a momentous achievement in our journey towards a sustainable future here at Future Energy Ventures (FEV). Since 2016 we have been active in the energy-tech ecosystem for E.ON and innogy with its 50 companies strong portfolio, today marks the next step on our journey having established a fully independent new multi-LP fund.

At Future Energy Ventures we understand the importance of smart innovations for a cleaner and greener planet, and thus are grateful to that E.ON and the European Investment Fund (EIF) anchor this SFDR article 9 fund targeting €250 million. €110 million are secured until now, which will be exclusively dedicated to founders accelerating the energy transition. We are truly grateful for our partners’ support and look forward to working together to achieve a brighter future for all.?

A Pioneering Move for Sustainability?

As we proudly stand at the forefront of the clean energy economy, the figures from Atomico's State of European Tech echo the sentiment, revealing that the "Carbon & Energy" sector, which includes "Climate Tech," has tripled its share of total investment since 2021. With an average initial ticket size of €1-10 million for early-stage investments, the fund aims to make 30 new investments in the innovation hubs of Europe, North America, and the Middle East.?

Personal Commitment to Decarbonization?

Jan Lozek , Founder and Managing Partner of FEV, expressed, The clean energy economy is the greatest business opportunity of our generation, and we are excited to be raising our second fund at this pivotal moment." He emphasized FEV's unique position to drive digitization and decarbonization, thanking investors and looking forward to discussions with those who share their vision.?

Strategic Collaborations for a Sustainable Future?

Marjut Falkstedt, European Investment Fund (EIF) Chief Executive, highlighted the alignment of this investment with EIF's strategic objectives, emphasizing the importance of better managing our energy needs.??

Thomas Birr , Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at E.ON sees the newly established fund as a milestone, integrating Climate-Tech and digital solutions into E.ON's business for a transformative impact.?

Closing Thoughts and Future Prospects?

With FEV already running one of the largest global funds investing in Climate-Tech, the newly established fund is expected to hold its final closing in the fourth quarter of 2024.
