As I look back at how embedded vision has evolved, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. What started as a technology for industrial use has now become essential in the?Smart Everything?world. In the past, we used?PC-based systems for image processing, but now, we can directly integrate powerful cameras and image processing into devices. These systems are compact, energy-efficient, and truly revolutionary.

At?Vision Components, we’ve been part of this journey for almost 30 years, and I’m excited to share our newest innovations at?VISION 2024. But of course, this event isn't just about showcasing products. It’s also about reconnecting with our?partners?and?customers – having those important conversations that lead to new ideas and move our industry forward.

VC MIPI IMX900 Camera: High performance in a small package

I’m really excited to introduce our new?VC MIPI IMX900 Camera. This is a?3.2 MP Global Shutter camera?with?Sony’s IMX900 sensor, offering excellent?light sensitivity?and a?wide dynamic range. Whether it’s used in?robotics,?quality control, or?code reading, its?compact size?makes it a great choice for all kinds of projects. Plus, with the?GMSL2 option, that's also new for all our VC MIPI Cameras, you can connect it over distances of up to 10 meters using coaxial cables – perfect for larger or more complex setups.

With its superior light sensitivity, high dynamic range and wide field of view, the VC MIPI IMX900 Camera Module is ideal for many applications.

The VC MIPI Ecosystem: Easy vision integration

Our?VC MIPI Ecosystem?is designed to make embedded vision integration as easy as possible. It includes everything you need – cameras,?processors, and?accessories—for fast and reliable integration. We’ve even launched a new website,?www.mipi-modules.com, where you can explore all the products and find the right solution for your project.

OEM laser sensor module: Precision for industrial applications

Another innovation I’m particularly proud of is our new and ultra-compact OEM module for laser triangulation sensors. It combines the proven technology of the VC nano 3D-Z sensor for laser triangulation with a new arrangement of the mirror elements for the camera and laser. This enables the smallest possible format of only 69 x 45 x 56 mm. This module is perfect for applications like?adhesive bead?and?weld seam inspection, giving you a powerful, compact basis for your industrial sensors.

Our highlight is an ultra-compact OEM module for laser triangulation sensors.
