The Future of Compensation: How you pay people is about to change forever

The Future of Compensation: How you pay people is about to change forever

Employees will start being paid based on outputs metrics like "closed sales" "lines of code" "ads designed" and "tickets closed". Gone are the days of using input metrics like "time worked"

  1. Increased Motivation: When employees are paid based on their outputs, such as closed sales, they are more motivated to work harder and be more productive. This is because they know that their efforts will directly impact their pay, which can lead to a higher salary. On the other hand, when employees are paid based on input metrics such as time worked, they may not feel as motivated to work harder because their pay is not directly tied to their performance.
  2. Improved Efficiency: When employees are paid based on outputs, they are more likely to focus on completing tasks that will lead to successful sales. This can lead to a more efficient work environment as employees are less likely to waste time on tasks that do not contribute to their pay. On the other hand, when employees are paid based on input metrics, they may not feel as incentivized to work efficiently and may spend more time on tasks that do not contribute to their pay.
  3. Greater Flexibility: When employees are paid based on outputs, they are given more flexibility in how they approach their work. This can lead to a more dynamic and creative work environment as employees are free to try new methods and approaches to reach their sales goals. On the other hand, when employees are paid based on input metrics, they may feel constrained by the need to clock a certain number of hours and may not be as willing to take risks or try new methods.
