I wish I had a super optimistic truth bomb to drop on those of you looking for a new role. It's tough out there, not getting better, and it's not as though we live in a country with a social safety net.

All I can say is build networks and dive into new and existing connections. Engage on LinkedIn. Reach out to people and talk to them on the phone (egads) or zoom. If you're in the nonprofit space, check out The Nonprofit Hive (via Tasha Van Vlack) and hop on a 30 minute call each week. It's unlikely that any one call or email exchange is going to open up a world of opportunity but, if nothing else, I've found that there for most folks, the default setting is listen, lend a hand and be supportive.
