The future of collaboration lies in global Innovations Ecosystems
Innovation needs people to work together, come up with ideas, put them into action, and create value.
Collaboration
To get things done, you need to work as a team. In our global, digital, and always-on world, problems are getting harder to solve. It's becoming more and more important to bring more people with different perspectives to the table and break down silos.
Community development is used to a certain kind of group activity called "collaboration." There are a lot of projects that are meant to bring people together. Collaboration has never been easy, mostly because there is a lot of conflict and competition both within and between groups. Since most people try to avoid conflict, we may end up with peaceful coexistence (or less than peaceful coexistence) instead of collaboration. It might be a good time to rethink how people work together.
Under the Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Global Alliances encouraged people to rethink their strategies. What impact could new forms of collaboration have on the economic well-being of a region, state, or nation? relationships, the method and the outcomes are all important aspects of collaboration. To collaborate is to cooperate with others on a shared project (process) (outcomes).
There is a good chance that what is needed for community development might not be found in the relationships that already exist. People often say that it takes more than one person, group, or organisation to solve problems, so it's important to work together. Now, relationships that span different industries, fields of study, and areas of work may pay off more. Interdisciplinary networks, especially those with younger professionals and different ethnic groups, can help find answers to problems that keep coming up and new connections where none were obvious before.
Some concrete goals of collaboration are building affordable housing, helping people start their own businesses, and getting high-speed Internet to rural areas. Many groups work together to describe a problem or come to an agreement. One important result of working together could be making new ways to measure how well economic development is going. Rethinking collaboration means figuring out how intellectual work, like putting each person's creative capital to use, can make the community better off.
Working together is only one part of the collaborative process. It means being able to work together and think together on hard projects. The way we've always done strategic planning is not a good example of the discipline we need to change our economies. Instead, strategic "doing" gives a plan for getting things done. Open innovation is when people think together. Open innovation is led by strategic doing. What this means is:
Listen and try to figure out what we can do together.
Learn and change: How will we all learn?
Focus and coordinate: What should we do as a group?

What will we do together?
There are important design elements that make up strategic doing. When we design, we have to be more aware and deliberate about making spaces for important conversations about things that matter to the community. Places can be made in the community to model and mirror new ways of working together. The space and place must be friendly and well thought out. This means that people can join in conversations and that they are carefully managed. For conversations to go well, you need to be able to listen well. How often do we listen to someone only thinking about what we're going to say next? Good listening means the conversation is driven by questions and curiosity, not by power, authority, or political influence.
