The future of business broadband

The future of business broadband

There are few things more frustrating than to be held from completing something by the speed of one’s broadband. It doesn’t matter if it’s a game, a programme being watched or a work document being uploaded, all are unwanted interruptions and they’re annoying. One could, of course, look at this as being very much a first world problem, and stop to consider how sad it is that our lives are so consumed with getting things done that we fret at the slightest delay, but that isn’t the subject of this blog. Perhaps next month! At the moment we want to talk about the monetary cost of broadband delays, and what to do about them.?

You may think that the odd minute or two spent waiting for your broadband to catch up as you wait for it to do its thing is all part of a day’s work and even a small price to pay for the option of having to, for instance, print and fax a document, and of course you’re mostly right, but if you were to work out the cumulative cost of all those odd minutes across your workforce in terms of their pay over a given period, you might be surprised. Here’s the link to an online calculator, give it a go. https://www.tptele.com/broadband/broadband-cost-calculator.html??

Have you recovered? As you will see, any delays in emailing or uploading or downloading files will be costing you, as it will if you have already implemented a VoIP ‘phone system.?

So what can you do about it? One simple answer is to consider having a leased broadband connection. A leased line being a dedicated, high-capacity fibre connection. Being dedicated to you it’s not shared so it’s secure and speeds are guaranteed.?

Any of the following should lend weight to a decision to go for a leased line:?

Having several employees who need broadband.?

A business that involves sending and receiving information.?

The use of broadband based telecoms (VoIP).?

The need for your broadband to be stable and reliable at all times.?

If you have several worksites or staff working from home.

And some of the benefits:

No more having to share bandwidth with others users.

No more interminable waiting for documents to upload/download.

A reliable connection.

Secure and private.

The contract with the leased line supplier will guarantee you security and reliability, as well as speed.
