The Future: 2018

You do realize that 2018 started months ago right? I know it is still 2017, but 2018 doesn't just start with a flick of a switch at midnight 1/1/2018. Things that will happen in 2018 for good or for bad have already been put in motion.

It is never too late to design the year that you want, this year from today forward.

I am starting with new programming data input. I am reading new books, and deciding what to bring with me through the curtain that is 1/1/2018 and what to leave behind in the back stage of 2017.

Like any good computer, our life and because we move only one direction in time our future needs good input. So, I stop and evaluate as best as I can what has been good and what needs tweaking.

I love what I heard Prince EA say, "Life is not simply meant to work, wait for the weekend, and pay rent." If we don't reach our fullest potential whatever that is for every single person out there, aren't we being selfish? Won't that affect those around us?

Of all of the things I am meant to do, I know I am meant to work on the one thing that can make a difference. I know that only I can influence the world the way I am meant to influence. I know only I can raise the kids that God has given me to raise to be the heroes he has called them to be. I know that whether I make that app or that thing that I think only I know how to make, someone else will make that thing because they have worked on the one thing that could help them execute and succeed. We can only work on the "you" that God gave us.

I wont be given the opportunities that others will, but I HAVE been trusted with THIS live and the lives it influences. So, should I kinda? Kinda, kinda killed alot of victories. Should I doubt? Doubt massacred, deliberately and violently killed, all potential it was allowed to massacre.

Where is the battlefield in 2018? 2018 will begin and end on the fields of personal development for the greater good. Victories over kinda and doubt will define the heroes of the battlefield. The war against mediocre will be won, one way or the other.

You see, you cannot through off responsibility and say you don't want it. You are responsible whichever choice you make. I am responsible for the father, husband, owner, co-worker, and influencer I am and that I become in 2018.

You see that is why 2018 started before we ever pieced the veil of 1/1/2018.

STOP! What will your battlefield look like? What will your victories look like? What will you learn from your failures? What do you drop this side of the veil? What do you bring with you? You WILL impact lives, like it or not. Come on then, let's make a HUGE impact!

Leave excuses behind. Drop "I'm not good at new technology." Leave behind "I don't know if I can." Forget about doubt and kinda.

Start to pack the right things now. Put in the largest amount of "I CAN!" Load up with as much positive mindset as you can and then add some more. Stuff perseverance in ever crack and crevice of your luggage. Forget about the things that hurt you. Let them light the fire of will power and fill-er-up!

Now what will it look like if all of the resources you need are already packed and you aren't bringing anything you don't need? Stop and imagine what the victories will smell, taste, feel and sound like. Unpack the joy and peace and other fruits that you will realize in 2018. Imagine the impact in ever area of your life from finances, to family, to faith, to fitness, to freedom. And, then imagine the lives that your victories will impact. Imagine the light your life will shine on others. Imagine the ripples on the pond that you will make. Take that out as far into the future as you can imagine and then ask for the ability to see even further.

I know that being surrounded by those all striving for their greatest potential and the greatest impact will raise my boats as well.
