I’ve been reading, trying, applying AI in different aspects of work/life. Yes it started with just work but then a couple months ago, I was going through my blood test report and googled each point to figure out good and bad parts of the report what should I be worried about before even going to the doctor. as curiosity took better off me, and I pasted my blood test report into my GPT window and asked questions of which I was looking for answers and of course not medical, but it helped me with what I wanted to know.
This piece of content will add my 2 cents to a lot of already existing information about how AI, is transforming the healthcare and subsequently healthcare marketing landscape, reshaping our approach, and enhancing our ability to connect, engage, and deliver in this critical industry.
The healthcare industry is no stranger to innovation, but the integration of AI is a game-changer. With the rapid advancements in AI and machine learning, healthcare marketers are presented with a unique set of opportunities and challenges. Marketing in specifically this industry is never direct, it’s more of awareness and education for which understanding every condition, it’s symptoms, causes, etc is crucial.
- Healthcare brands relied on just medical reps to spread the word about any OTX/RX product.
- Doctors came to know through MRs about particular drugs and specific brands
- The entire burden was on MRs to ensure all right information was with doctors
- The MRs ability to inform and doctor’s relationship with MRs meant everything for the sale of any product in the category.
- All information about this category of products is available on the internet
- The consumer/patient is researching before they go see a doctor
- The doctor has the information, pros, cons, reviews, etc managed at one place, the prescription does not just rely on word of mouth
Jotting down a few aspects where I feel as a marketer in healthcare, would be extremely useful. Believe it or not, we attempted points 1, 3 and 6 from below five years ago while working for one of the pharmaceutical companies as my client. It was exciting then but far more popular + accepted + practical now.?
