Dexon Technology is Pleased to Welcome PTT Global Chemical (GC) 5 for a Technical Demonstration?of Dexon’s New Furnace ILI Fleet

Dexon Technology’s furnace in-line inspection department was pleased to welcome two engineers from PTT Global Chemical (GC) 5 for a technical demonstration of Dexon’s new furnace ILI fleet. Furnace pipeline engineers performed live demonstrations on Dexon’s furnace test loop with data analysis and verification sessions, followed by a tour of Dexon’s Research Development and Engineering (RD&E) department.?

Dexon’s New Furnace Inline Inspection Fleet

Dexon’s newly designed range of?in-line inspection tools offer inspection in 5”, 6”, 8”, and 10” tubes with 3” and 4” tools scheduled for release in late 2022. Each tool has 48 radially mounted immersion transducers that provide sampling densities of up to 37,000 direct wall thickness measurements per meter. Purpose-built software developments scheduled for late 2022 include automatically generated 3D graphic representation of inspection data and the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to automatically detect and classify anomalies.

Dexon’s Furnace Test Loop

Dexon’s furnace test loop has been specially designed to replicate realistic furnace conditions and configurations. Multi-diameter pipe spools replicate large-scale vac-furnace arrangements while sections containing coke buildup allow for decoking verification and metal-loss and geometric deformations replicate corrosion and creep.?
