The Furlenco-Dear Zindagi partnership

#furlencoforzindagi #dearzindagi #bedifferent

So Dear Zindagi approached us for a partnership about a month back. My first reaction was: ‘A movie partnership? Is that really us?’ Then I saw the trailers - movie looked young, urban, feel-good, fun…

But the real clincher was when I heard the ‘Love you Zindagi’ track - and where I had an instant connect. The strain of the song pretty much goes like this -

When something makes you happy, embrace it. When something makes you sad, take it out of your life. Because positive things and energies flood your life when you make room for it.

A powerful message which instantly resonated with me. Because that’s pretty much what Furlenco is about.

How?

Furniture is one of those things that we love to hate. It’s necessary, because, let’s face it, sleeping on the floor isn’t fun (anymore). Because we need something that points to the TV. Because we need something to hold our stuff. Because we need a home for that awesome bottle of bourbon.

But to quote Kaira (Alia) in Dear Zindagi, we go in pursuit of ‘that kursi’. That elusive piece of furniture. Just like anything in our zindagi, we’re always looking for it to ‘fit’ just right.

We like it...but it's expensive.

The price is right...but it’s so ugly!

Its FINALLY on sale...but not in the colour I want.

And that’s where Jug’s (SRK) philosophy hits home. We end up compromising - or promising ourselves that we’re going to wait. Till that NEXT sale. Till the NEXT big bonus. Then we get the sofa without the side table, and the bed without the awesome mattress. And if, by some magical twist of fate, manage to get it all at once, we convince ourselves that this is what we love, and are GOING to love, for the rest of lives.

And till then - we’re ok with our second-hand landlord gifted- furniture.

But is that the only option?  Or can we alter the lens just a little bit?

The sofa we need today may be very different from what we’ll need when we have kids. A cosy movie night with our loved one now, versus something large (with safe edges) that the kids will love bouncing on then?

Instead of envying that beautiful recliner which adorns that shop window, what if we could enjoy the next sports season sitting on it TODAY?

We’ve loved your singledom till now. But when we move into ‘double’ dom, what  if we could trade our single life at home for a beautiful double (pun intended) life?

And that’s where Furlenco helps us uncompromise. Helps us LIVE life in our homes. Helps us live better. Not tomorrow, not next year, but NOW.

To quote Jug (SRK) (who quotes Eintsein) in the movie, ‘The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result’.

So this is a shout out to all you awesome folks out there who live zindagi on YOUR terms. Be brave, and be DiffeRENT.

An interesting read. So subtly presented the experience and partnership in words! Reading this work was treat to my eyes.

An unusually subtle partnership that signifies a good life! Nicely put across. Thanks.
