Funk or funky?
This week's been a bit heavy. I've been down in the funk, quite aware of it - every day making a small effort to make my life a bit more funky.
What puzzles me is when a lot of my close friends are going through something similar at the exact same time... Some might say there's some planetary influence, others might say we are the sum of the closest people surrounding us.
What I believe to be most important though, is to find a way to get out of your funk.
This week I took my time. I sat with my funk. I wanted to know what she had to say - and she had a few messages for me, things I really need to look at. So here's what I have noticed over the years - and thanks to the (not so) funky messages:
Keep it simple. What I shared above is nothing new - yet maybe you needed the reminder, just like I did (yes, I am listening while I'm writing). What's the next step?
Right now I'm on my way to the city, to sit in my favourite café (the MCA at Circular Quay), and work from there today. Why not change your scenery, when you're down in the funk - it's actually quite simple to boost your mood.
Here's a picture from my train ride, just to lift yours:
What are you doing today to put a smile on your face? We all need it - and it's contagious, so let's do this together!! Feel free to send me a message or comment below, it would be so inspiring to myself and others.
Sending you a BIG SMILE today.
With Love
Marie x

7 个月Love this, Marie. Going after what we are confident we want comes with uncertainty, even if it's a step in a positive direction (especially if it is). For me, it's fear. The fear isn't whether or or not I can do it, the fear comes from whether others will respond, whether it will resonate with them, whether they will find it valuable. I know what some of your new goals are and sometimes I think we do self-sabotage but I find when that happens, it's coming from a place of fear and uncertainty. None of it's insurmountable and you've no doubt done harder things, but maybe it's a survival instinct? I don't know but I sure understand what you're saying. Music is my best therapy, too. That, and changing my surroundings. Working in a coffee shop is where I do my best, most creative work. Wishing you a day filled with joy, progress, and possibilities!!

7 个月The Affordable Loss Principle- is the philosophical way of questioning oneself as to what will i lose compared to what is gained. When shifts come this is usually a part of that decision, subtle at times so one may not even notice they are being challenged.... You will choose wisely i'm sure...
