Did you know that you work in manufacturing?
Your nonprofit is a factory.
“But Michael, we are SO MUCH MORE than a factory! All of our programs are unique. Each service we provide is custom-tailored and handcrafted for the people we serve. You don’t understand. We are not a factory.”
Stick with me for a second.
What happens with a factory? What does a factory do?
Raw materials come in, a group of people and processes convert the raw materials into something new, and a finished product comes out the other side.
It’s a vast oversimplification, sure, but it’s no less true.
Here's something else about factories ...
Factories are not known for the raw materials that go in.
They are not known for the processes that happen inside.
Factories are known for the thing that comes out the other side.
What kind of factory is your nonprofit?

You are a goodness and beauty factory.
Money comes in, a group of awesome people and magical processes happen, and goodness and beauty come out the other side in the lives of the people you serve.
That’s what you do.?
You invite people to give away their money so that people and programs can transform it into goodness and beauty and hope and impact and positive change in the lives of others.
You're not just a fundraiser. You're a manufacturer of goodness and beauty.
Fundraising is hard. Nonprofit work is hard. I know. I get it.
But never forget … you are in the business of unleashing goodness and beauty into a world that desperately needs both.
Does that sound like something that would be easy?
Nope.
Don’t give up. Keep manufacturing hope.
Keep cranking out that goodness and beauty.?
The world needs you now more than ever.
