The Fundipedia Wrap-Up: A year of record growth and innovation.
A NOTE FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR
Since our roll out of Fundipedia in 2007, I've observed the arc of change across asset management.
There is the usual resistance and lack of understanding on how to make change happen. Despite this, we find small factions who see the big picture and will fight to manifest change - often putting their careers on the line to make it happen.
These small groups have a high density of talent and drive. They understand how technology can be used as a lever for change and many will have achieved some form of change success. They see Fintechs like Fundipedia winning in other firms, and they point to these successes as evidence for their business case.
When you combine these small groups using success as evidence and the pressure of competition, regulation and so on - something starts to happen. Over time, the ideas break through. The barriers stay up for a while and it seems change will never happen. Then a few people make change happen and those barriers fall down gradually, and then all at once.
That's how 2024 felt.
All the barriers starting to fall at once. Individual firms now get it, so while we continue this journey in 2025 we turn our attention to the wider ecosystem.
What matters most is the health of the ecosystem. A badly constructed ecosystem constrains all players. In many ways, individual success is less important than aligning industry incentives and direction.
To that end - in addition to continuing our journey with individual asset managers I'm turning my attention even more to the ecosystem. My position as Senior Advisor to the Investment Association's incredible "IA Engine" provides a platform to engage individuals across the industry and regulators to look at ways of improving outdated procurement processes, reducing data costs, enhancing Fintech adoption and much more.
All that is to say, we're making progress to leave the industry in a better state than we found it in 2007 and this year was pivotal in that aim. We're excited about what comes next.
Wishing you and yours a relaxing break over the holidays to ready and recharge and go again in 2025.

PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS
FundiAI user engagement underway!
We'd like to announce the launch of FundiAI - our conversational interface that democratises access to Fundipedia's comprehensive fund data.
We've assembled our first user group from product teams to test and refine this innovative chatbot, which allows users to interact naturally with our data and receive accurate, instant responses.
While we're starting with product teams, we've already identified over a dozen use cases for extending FundiAI across the wider ecosystem including investors.
This is just the beginning of our journey to make fund data more accessible and actionable for everyone who needs it. We look forward to expanding this capability with our clients throughout 2025.?If you'd like to come on the journey, please get in touch.
BEYOND EDMs: Why Product Masters are critical for Asset Managers and how they improve efficiency and lower cost.
Historically, Enterprise Data Management systems have been the go-to solution for managing the vast amounts of data in asset management. But as data volumes surge and regulatory requirements intensify, traditional EDMs are proving insufficient. A more intelligent approach is needed to maintain efficiency and meet evolving standards.
Enter the Product Master – a critical solution that not only materially enhances data accuracy and quality, but also improves speed to market, making it essential for asset managers today.
